I have a 99 Limited that I purchased a replacement muffler for and it's seems louder than stock. Is this possible? If so, where can I buy a quite OEM replacement from.

Thanks

I have a cheap aftermarket muffler on my truck now, and it's too loud for me. I'd also be interested in quiet aftermarket mufflers that are available.

I'm still deciding between the Flowmaster Super 44 or the 50 series. The 50 just seems a bit quiet and raspy, yet the 44 might have too much interior resonance?

I just put a magnaflow on mine to replace the aftermarket cheapo that was on it and it is way quieter now. I just got the biggest universal one they sell that would fit under there.

If that happens to be the 12286 then it WILL start rattling most likely within 3000 miles or less.
Mine started within 1000 miles.
For some oddball reason Magnaflow decided to make the inside tube that particular model a "two piece" and it is a design flaw of at least the "center/offset" version.
If it is any other size/model of Magnaflow it will probably be just fine.

I opted to replace mine with the Borla which has a one piece inner tube.

I got this one MagnaFlow 11256. I was thinking it was one peice down the inside. I looked down it and don't remember seeing a welded joint. It looked bent to me. Either way ill put it thru its paces and see how it does.

Not really sure about that one, could be fine.
The larger 12286 however is a 2 piece tube and will almost certainly fall apart.
If that one is one piece it will probably last you 10 years or so, if not you will know pretty soon.
