OEM Tires Feathered

I have 32000 miles on the poem duller ht's. Been rotating the tires every 5 to 7 thousand per the manual fronts to back and back to front with out crossing. Have only done highway driving no offroad. Im feeling a vibration in the steering wheel going above 60 but not consistently. The tires were just balanced by DTire twice, Normal balance, then a week later with road force and haweeka adapter as read from this forum. Feels better but on occasion it still does it. Is it the truck? The tires? Theres still some decent wear left on the tires but the outer edges are feathered. its like each block on the tire is a lightly angled ramp.

Alignment.

Now this is slightly OT, but with 32k on the oem tires, I'd not spend another dime until you replace them. Then get your alignment and balance.

Good point. The balancing and alignment could cost more than the value of the tread that's remaining on the tires.

Check tire inflation pressure too. Wear on the outside edges could indicate under-pressure. Read the recommended tire pressure from a vehicle sticker/tag on the driver's side door jamb or door edge.

For normal paved road driving the OEM tires are a good practical choice, offering some traction with smooth efficient driving. For off-road, they are not a good choice.

Thanks for the advice. The tires have always been at 32 i check frequently. Do you guys align on a schedule? Im assuming that would be the only way to do it. If the tires give you the indication then they are already unevenly worn. Assuming of course the car never pulls.

I don't align on a schedule. I do get one done every couple of months though. Granted, I paid for a lifetime alignment through Firestone, and I'm sure they don't appreciate my needs of having frequent alignments.
