OEM Toyota Rocker Switches - Out of Room!

Hey guys,

Need some help on where to mount a number of 00550-35976 OEM fog light switches.

I currently have switches to control the following:

1. DRLs
2. Front Auxiliary Lamp
3. Rear Backup Aux. Lamp

I plan on adding at least one more switch in the future.

I'd like to stay with these switches as they are cheap, simple, and period-correct, oh, and OEM!

My truck is a 2001 so my blanks are taken up by two (2) of the switches and I haven't found a good way to secure a switch in the square cutout, even shoving a single-gang switch blank next to it.

The pic below is how my cutouts are arranged, except I have a security light in the upper RH blank.

i found that two switches horizontal fit nicely in the square cutout. No real good way to secure them but i used some hot-glue and theyve held for about a yr now. No cutting or trimming required so its a good workaround until i can afford a nice bank of these: OTRATTW

You're limited if you want to stick with oem style switches. Like you said, they're obviously cheaper.

Otherwise, OTRATTW switches are the way to go.

combine lights to single switch and get an OE stalk switch? Fogs on stalk, HIDs on switch, reverse on switch, and lightbar on switch. Thats all one would ever need I think?

You can mod your console, details in my thread. I did this since I wanted an OE look and ran out of switch blanks. I have another project in work to add more for OBA and another for whatever.

Maybe someone can confirm but I think the OEM switches will fit in the OTRATTW switch holders. Has anyone tested that?

hmmm, I've never tried it but I can give it a shot.

I had to copy Matt.

Then he had to copy me and stuff an RR Diff Lock switch in there. Life is tough for us with the locker/5 speed combo and lack of switch blanks.

Thanks for the suggestion. I've seen many installs using the OTRATTW switches, but they just seem out of place in the 3rd Gen to me. They seem better suited for 4th Gen+/2nd Gen Taco+.

Hehe, we're on the same wavelength here. After my response, I was Googling single-DIN switch panels, but didn't really come up with any obvious hits.

Did you make that metal panel? I could definitely see relocating all the auxiliary lights to the center and maybe repurposing an OEM mirror controller as a winch controller.

That is what I did as well. I like it. If the OEM switches fit there, then that's definitely a possibility for OP.

Ok the OEM blanks will fit in the OTRATTW switches but there is some side to side play. I thought I had some extra switches lying around to test fit but couldn't find them.

Wiring question

Hello guys.... I need some help, im terrible when it comes to electrical. I did not want to start a new thread, but I have a quick question....

Currently I have my light bar mounted to a toggle switch. Well the toggle switch is warn out and doesn't stay tight no more.

I bought one of those knockout switches. I was going to replace but I noticed my current switch is a 2 prong and the new switch is a 2 prong.... what to do?
