Tacoma trd wheels should clear Tundra Brakes, right? I might be an idiot for asking,
Looks great. Hey, I have what might be kind of a dumb question. I am eyeing a set of those, 2019 tacoma trd wheels, and am wondering if there would be any fit issues, at stock height, with the 231mm Tundra brake upgrade. I wouldn't expect any issues, but don't know enough about it to be sure. Want to make sure they will clear, and everything is good.
The tires on the new wheels are 265/70/16, same as currently mounted, so no issues there. I just want to make sure before buying.

Late model TRD wheels/tires 265 70R16 fit perfectly, no issues whatsoever.
Nice! I've been considering these lately and someone near me has a set for sale.
Do you or does anyone else know if these clear Tundra brake caliper?

I just recently got a 98 and it has 285/70/17 tires on it and 17 inch rims. It has 3 in lift in front and 2 in the back. Are these tires too big or is it the rims? When we changed out the rotors we noticed that the bolts on the rims only screw in about 5-6 threads . That’s as tight as they would go. Not sure if posting this in right place or if I’m explaining it properly but any help would be greatly appreciated. I know the tires are a little big and plan on getting smaller ones but wanted to double check if I should change rims as well?? Thank u!

I just sold the FJ Cruiser wheels that I had on my 3rd Gen and put on the 1 Gen Sequoia/Tundra wheels that were slated to go onto the Land Cruiser. I am currently running 265/70-17 KO2 on the 4Runner but once I install the lift and these tires wear out I plan on going with 285/70-17 KO2.
Oh, and before someone mentions the bumper, this bumper was installed by the previous owner and is not designed for the 4Runner it is intended for the Trooper.

Many of us are rockin' those wheels. They first appeared on the 2014 4Runner Trail Edition. [MENTION=116387]Unner[/MENTION] & myself were two of the first back in 2015.

I just ordered the gunmetal set from Toyota. I saw a few used sets for about $50 cheaper than buying them brand new. how do you like the tire size you chose?
After a lot of research and consideration I decided to go with the 6 spoke FJ Cruiser TRD wheels. I'm not sure if these were originally available only on the Trail Teams edition or not, but where I live I have yet to see one FJ Cruiser with these silver wheels. I've seen several recent Trail Teams with the gunmetal and flat black wheels. I've always liked silver wheels on my vehicles, but I think all 3 versions of this TRD wheel look great.
Earlier this week I called my local Toyota dealership (5 minute drive from where I live and work) and asked about the price of these wheels. I was quoted $170 each. I told the parts guy that in my research they are being sold online for between $128 and $150 each. I only heard about the $128 as a "buddy" or "wholesale" deal, but I think mentioning this price helped. Anyway, he ended up giving me a quote for $136 each. I think this is a great deal since it is a genuine TRD wheel (no eBay/internet doubts) and no shipping cost since I am picking them up. The total price including tax was $147.22 per wheel. The wheel comes with the TRD center cap, 6 chrome lug nuts, and a rubber valve stem. Considering all of the TRD research and development that goes into these wheels I think that getting 4 for $588.88 out the door is a solid deal.
Note: These TRD wheels are 16 x 7.5. After I get blue pin stripes added I will either mount them with my current tires or wait for my 285/75/R16 Mickey Thompson Baja MTZs if I'm close to making them work without rubbing.

That's a sweet ride. I like how you gave your wheels some contrast with the different color caps. I just ordered a set of the gunmetal ones. How do you like the ride comfort with that tire size. Also, I'm looking into upgrading to the Tundra brakes. Do you happen to have that done to your ride? I'd like to know if these wheels will clear the 231mm calipers without having to use spacers.

Thanks, I appreciate that. These wheels are now for sale and went back to my original set up.
As for the Tundra Brakes. They will fit these wheels no problem.

I found a great deal on these 5th gen wheels locally. I also scored these practically new Michelin LTX M/S2 tires from a guy that took them off his 2019 Wrangler after a few hundred miles. He was selling all 5 tires for such a good price that I didn’t even mind they were a little narrower than I was looking for (245/75R15). I was coming from the tiny factory 15” wheels, so it’s a big improvement nonetheless.
