OEM type connector terminals

I have purchased the terminals but I cant for the life of me figure out how to get the connectors apart. Any pics or advice? My stereo install has hit a raod block due to this issue.

All Toyota connectors and terminals consist of the same basic elements - "gates" that keep the terminals locked in place, and release tabs on each terminal that allow you to remove the terminal from the connector. You can see the white "gate" on the blue connector in an earlier post. The actual color and shape of the gate will depend on the connector.

In every case, you'll need to lift up on the lock gate to unlock the terminals, then press down on the release tab of the terminal you want to remove. Some terminals will require a good amount of patience and dexterity to release them, as well as very small jeweler's screwdrivers. I've bought special release tools in the past, but actually found that I like my jeweler's screwdriver the best for this task.

Here's an overview of the process: YouTube
