All right,

A group of friends and I are going off-roading at Rausch Creek Off Road Park in/near Harrisburg PA.

So far is 5 of us, 3 runners, 1 JGC, and 1 GMC truck. (Jeep Liberty undecided)

DATE= Saturday 03/04/06

We are doing a day trip, departing Columbia MD at 6:30am to arrive there sometime after 8am, and back that evening.

I am just throwing this out there for any one that wants to come, because as you know one needs a minimum of three automobiles to get in, and one not always can pull this together. So if you

How much does it cost for extrance to the park?
Are we all going on a guided tour?
How far away is Columbia MD from Fairfax, VA? I may just meet you all there.

Come on guys....all of you who used to meet up in Tysons Corner-----you know who you are. Who else is in?!?!?!?!
 
Kewl kewl. I'll see how this form up, but I'm tentatively scheduled for a trip to Boston that weekend. If it falls through, I'm in.

I'll look at some recovery gear because I'm still running the stock dunlops :)

Not looking to do anything crazy, but I'd love to get up to Rausch. Isn't that date specified in March on a Mon.? Maybe I'm reading this wrong.

I'm in Arlington, VA, so I'd have to drive up to Columbia too, not sure how long that takes.

seems like we'll have a nice bunch for the ride.

As far as the price I believe is about 25 dollars for the entrance to the park and 10 dollars for a mandatory membership, there is a form on the web site which I recomend you print and fill out ahead of time.

As far as guided tour, well lets say it is up to us to find the way out :D
They are preety good at telling you on the maps wich spots we might need to be extra careful and so on. Having a guided tour costs money and this also requires that we all commit to the trip and to each other to swing the cost of the tour.

The trail we are doing is described below:
Level A - GREEN: This group is for stock vehicles with drivers having little or no off-road experience. You should have at least one towhook and a full-size spare. A CB radio will be helpful.

My House in Columbia MD is literally accross the street from the Home depot in Columbia address is "9051 Snowden River Pkwy
Columbia, MD 21046" if you enter this address as your destination on mapquest or google maps, it will give you the estimated drive time to my place. I'll PM my address and cell to you guys as soon as you PM me requesting this info.


Ohh, and phishman, it is on Saturday March 4th '06. You may have looked at a different year.

Duh, I see that now, I must have looked before I had my coffee this morning. I'm in, pending something major comes up that weekend.

Do most of you guys have CBs?

No CB on my end.
I hope I can get some cell reception.

I am most definitly in! I also mapquested directions to your house, then to rausch Creek. It is only 20 miles more doing it that way then trying to find you if I went just there. So...I guess you can just email me at [email protected] with the full directions to your place and cell number. PM with the same as well.


Oh...and I dont have a CB. But then again...since we arent going into East-Cow-Country, our cells should work. We should exchange them all when we meet up.

Well looks like I'm not going to Boston till the 3/6 so I'm down for this trip. I'll look around for some recovery gear prior to the trip 'cause I'm not cool like Sean with the Revos :) ;):
 
I might try to make this one too guys. I'll see if I can get a few from NY/CT/NJ to make it too.

Karl: See if you can get your boyz from the NE to come down and meet us there. You may want to post a shout out on the NE forum to visit this thread.

Due to the large number of vehicles, I am going to have everyone meet at the Columbia Home Depot parking lot instead of my house. We will depart by 6:30 so this means meet prior to 6:30 at the parking lot. I'll be there by 6:00am to greet everyone.

For all you good Coffee lovers, there is a Starbucks near my house and near a gas station.

I do not know how much gas we'll use off roading, but I bet the MPG's will drop considerably. So plan on bringing a gas container.
Those of you driving up from VA should pump before we head out from Columbia.

Does everyone here have T4R Stickers? It will be as July said"Kewl" to take a few pix of the rigs representing our forum.

If you do not have a Sticker and would like to buy one but you do not have paypal to pay for them, PM me and I'll buy one for you and you pay me when we meet. Give plenty of time to order.
 
I'll post something for the NE guys, but frankly, I am the only one who is ever interested in getting together. My boyz from NY/NJ will hopefully represent :)
 
This looks like it'll be a great meet! I've been wanting to check out RC and meet up with some of you guys for a while now so I'll check my schedule at the office tomorrow and make sure there's nothing planned for that weekend. If I can make it, would you guys mind if my buddy in an Xterra tagged along?

I am all about having a diverse group of rigs, but of course the majority has to be 4runners :D It will be awesome to see and appreiciate each SUV's :driving: capabilities.

This goes out to all, if you got buddies that want to tag along even if it is just as passengers, they are more than welcome to come.
