How do you like living in Denver? I have been thinking about moving there (or just CO in general) but dont know much about it other then the resorts.

Denver is great! It has all 4 seasons, but none of them are too intense and the mountains are a short drive away. The city itself is cool because it's got a bit of everything, it's a decent size, and it's a good mix of people from all over the country (it is a transplant town, so depending, it can be a good thing). There is never a shortage of stuff to do outdoors in any season. Some of the world's best mountain biking, camping, snowboarding, climbing, etc etc... there's something for everyone. As soon as I get the "city" out of my system (aka, settle down with a lady), I'm going to move into the foothills just outside of Denver... but who knows how that will all transpire.
The only thing I'd caution is that it can be a difficult place for professional careers... I'm a mechanical engineer w/a master's degree and still had a helluva time finding a job because there just aren't a lot of those jobs here. There also aren't many lakes... but since I'm from MN, I may be one of the few people who gripe on that. ;-)
But as a state, it's effing fantastic and living in Denver is the best of both worlds. Snowboarding is, more or less, what brought me here and when I see the mountains everyday, it makes me pretty dang happy that I finally got here.
Oh, the airport is pretty nice too... good prices because of all the tourism and it's a massive hub.

Dude that awesome to hear. I live on the east and HATE it. Nothing for me to do here. Not the way I want to anyways. I’m big into the outdoors.. Mountain biking, snowboarding, guns (NY blows in that department) and just being in the woods. I've been to CO for snowboarding and love the atmosphere. Guess for me my hang-up is finding a place to live. I’m a single guy with no family so I'd be doing alone (kinda sucks). I would have no idea how to go about finding a place. Work is actually the easy part as I own a business that I can run remotely. I think about moving there pretty much everyday...

Oh, then you have to do it and here's more ammo to shoot down your arguments:
1) Because it's a transplant town, it is super single-person friendly. It is not weird to sit down next to some random person at the bar and strike up a conversation. I moved here solo and it couldn't have been easier. I also moved to OR solo and that was not so easy.
2) Mountain biking is everywhere out here and on a level I never understood until I lived here. I rode in MN and it's just not the same. I ride moab 2-3 times per year and every time it blows my mind.
3) Snowboarding.
4) Guns: Pretty sure you can mtb and shoot guns here, or at least that has what it seemed like on a couple of occasions... a range must be fairly close to a couple of trails in particular.
5) Toytec is just north of Denver as are countless 4Runner junkies scattered around CO.
It took me about 15 years to finally land myself in CO and it's great. Oh, if you're into the sun, it is like the 8th sunniest city in the US!

That's just awesome man. You are living my dream. Iv been thinking about it for probably the last 4-5 years. How's the housing market in Denver? Do you get a good value for your money? Cant be worse the back side beating im getting in NY.... Sorry to ask so many questions but as of now your the only one I can ask lol.

The housing market, as far as I know, has stayed pretty stable here. I think the worst that happened was that growth slowed, don't think too many people got bit by the bubble here. There are definitely some great buys here and I am really wishing I were in a better position to do so, but I'm planning to be by next spring!
Boulder, on the other hand is pretty expensive but it's also sheltered (good and bad). Other towns around the state are cheap, unless it's a resort town and then it's pretty big $ depending on the particular resort.

Yup, around 13 miles north of the lake. I haven't found a place I like better than Truckee! I even lived in Boulder for a few years but there was just something about here that brought me back!

That’s good to hear. I heard of Boulder. Don’t have a clue what’s it like I have a notion its more family orientated? As to Denver more city life? would you agree with that? I def want to stay away from resort towns but stay within a 1.5 - 2 hr drive max. What i really need to do is take a trip not in the winter and do some exploring...

Boulder is a beautiful town and it's right at the foothills of the Flat Irons, so that's cool. But yeah, it's either college kids or older/married/kids... not a whole lot in between. Denver is definitely younger and has more city-life stuff to offer. Also, it's actually easier to get to the resorts from Denver as i70 is right here (Boulder is about 30 minutes north). Loveland, A-basin, Keystone, Breck, Copper, Winter Park, Vail, and Beaver Creek are all less than 2 hours from Denver... :thumb3:

What's that saying, "life's short, take chances"? Maybe I'm combining two phrases, but whatever. If you do come out I'd be happy to give you a tour of Denver or at least point you in the direction of good things!

well I'm supposed to be making a trip through the canyons... waiting for the news forecast but its either 50mph winds or it dies down as we get 1-2 feet of snow. exciting because I've never had the 4runner in snow yet. pics to follow I'm sure.

after waking up to a few inches of snow (second fall this year) i realize something.
being the only vehicle in the parking lot with no snow on it looks baller!
(dont forget to spray your inner fenders with wd-40 to keep the snow and ice off this year!)
