Utah and Colorado. I think we hit every national and state park in the southern half of Utah and the South Western corner of CO, plus some of Northern AZ.

Great trip for sure, but always too short; can't wait to go back. Maybe next weekend...

Slightly off topic but is that the 30" bar you were trying to mount behind the grille but it wouldn't fit?

Yep. I did a preliminary measurement of just the grill from the outside, thinking it would be close, but I might be able to squeeze it in there. However, after pulling everything off, there is no way. No worries, the 20" bar in the lower grill will fit just perfect, which will make room for my winch.

Thanks guys. We've got some pretty beautiful scenery up here that makes the pics look good. Every time I see pics from Moab I feel the same way. It's not too far a drive from Calgary, so as soon as I get my bumper, winch, and suspension upgrade I'll be making plans to head down there.

Haha, wondered if anyone would notice. I somehow ended up with a Wrangler Authority in my set of Duratracs, but didn't notice for like 10K miles. I swear, they are the same tires, just a different tread pattern.

More Moab

Went back for more Moab fun this past weekend. We ran Tower Arch, Eye of the Whale, Onion Creek, Thompson Canyon, Polar Mesa, Hurrah Pass (again just for the sunset), and of course Top of the World. Top of the Word was by far the hardest. The end section (loop) was pretty gnarly in some spots, and I slightly ripped off my rear bumper as well as really scratched my front one badly. Still no mechanical damage whatsoever.

We ran from the top back down with two really nice lifted Rubicons that we met at the top. They were from lostjeeps.com. Really nice people. One of them had 35s and he was hitting his back bumper too, so I feel like I did pretty good considering our 4runners have significantly more rear overhang than a Rubicon.

Top of the World -- Easier spot on the way up


Top of The World -- Probably the most difficult part, going up just before the loop. I bottomed out on my right slider, but luckily no other areas hit anything underneath.


Just after getting up that part (when we came back down, all three rigs hit HARD on the rear bumpers...)


Jeeps following me back down. Unfortunately I didn't get good video and pics from this section because I didn't want to hold those guys up and we were kind of in a hurry to get back to CO anyways. But there was some really gnarly terrain coming back down the other side of the loop for sure...

I hear ya! If somebody would make one that looks like the stock TE bumper but made of steel, sign me up. Otherwise, I am buffing that puppy out.

Was in Moab from the 13th-17th. Weather sucked for most of the time. Rained two days and snowed on the day we left. I was driving back south to get back to Texas while my friends were driving back to Colorado Springs. They had it very rough getting through the mountains. We ran Top of the World on the 14th. It was unbeliveable. Words and pictures cannot describe the overlook. Snooperstyle, I totally agree with your opinion on Top of the World. Pretty difficult in some spots, especially the loop. But I made it with no damage except some minor tree pinstriping, and I have a pretty mild lift and stock size tires. Did scrape the skidplates, rocksliders and trailer hitch several times. I tried to read up on this trail a lot before we did it, but nothing I read indicated how rough and rocky and how high the ledges actually are. And the fact that it is pretty much continous for the whole trail is tough, but awesome. I loved this trail. It was hard, but not off camber and scary and the end is possibly the coolest place I have ever been. Pics to follow.

Pics from the trail. The third one is on the return loop after visiting the overlook. I slid into the tree and got a good pinstripe from it. It's ok though. I would rather have a ton of trail pinstripes than one parking lot ding!
