Nice! Heck, if all you needed were the pins out, you shoulda came to me.
I got needle nose, rubbing alcohol and a band aid....:biggrin2:

Congrats man. Take it slow. I never had pins, but broke my wrist and my muscles were soo weak when I got the cast off.

yeah thats what the doc did, 123 yank... my muscles should be fine, just stupid pinky and hand who needs em anyway

Gentlemen, for the love of God, don't use the stupid hip abductor machines. They have zero benefit to you.

Not true, its pretty hard to hit those muscles in squats. those machines also help correcting hip rotation, yeah i study human bioenergetics, come at me bro!:pimp:

I'd agree, they don't focus on hip adductor muscles. That being said, if you're a member of a good gym, or CrossFit box, etc., they'll program exercises (Russian twists, side lunges, etc.) that will work those muscles.

Where are you going to school for human biogenergenics?

I'd like to know more about your opinion, because I've NEVER spoke with a fitness professional who agrees with you.

From what I've read from those who do study human biogenergenics they all agree that machines that limit natural movement really can do more harm than good especially on ligaments. I wouldn't be caught dead on that machine. I would def get laughed at at my gym for being on it. Its only for staring at good looking chicks while they are on it.

Wrong, outstanding (abduction and adduction) movement for ice hockey.

Hip anductors are probably more important to hockey players than any other sport and this is a great machine to cause premature injuries. There are a number of much better alternatives.

Sitting, to me, is not considered an exercise.

Agreed. That machine if used correctly is great for stretching also.

I only do hip abductor to fix my hip rotating, you can't do that by squatting because your body will always find the easiest way to move the weight, thats why when you injury one side of your body, your body tend to over use the other side. some machines are great as corrective exercises, like hip abductors, machines thats bad for your joints are stuff like leg extensions, cable shoulder press, thing like that. sure there are better ways to do corrective exercises, i could put some resistance bang around my ankle and do 20 laps of side lunges and work my glutes and hips, but i rather bang out 4 sets of hip abductors and get it over with.

to be technical, any exercise involving correct form movement is beneficial, the question is, wether the benefits are worth the time and effort.

most people dont do squats correctly, dont know how to flex their hip abductors.

Subject change: I've been toying with my bench press to try and get some gains in this area. I've always been terrible at bench and its always been my worst exercise. I took some tips from this video series: EliteFTS.com - So You Think You Can Bench (Part 1) - YouTube
I widened my grip and put the weight on my traps like this video shows. Amazing how it makes a difference. I'm up to 6 reps with 235lbs. I don't have a spotter so I don't push too hard.
Anyone else have any tips to share?

when i bench, i try to mix up what i do on different days. some days ill go through an incline, decline, and flat circuit, low weight high reps. other days its just one, like yesterday i did just decline up to 205 for 4 reps without a spotter (keep in mind I'm 160lbs). other days ill do just incline, or just flat, working up to a target weight, then coming back down at the same rate. no matter what i do, incline, decline, or flat, i always do dumbbells on a flat or incline, and then ill do chest fly's. thats just me though, and so far its worked to build strength

edit: also i forgot, one of my favorites is to go on decline, put a weight you can rep for 15 easily, and do 10 reps normal grip, 10 reps wide grip, and 10 reps inside/close grip. no breaks in-between, for 4 sets, if that doesn't get your chest sore, you're just too strong
