Official Truck Builders CAD Model Library

inverter was fun to use back in highschool. i think it would be cool to design some stuff to 3d print

I'm adding a model for any led voltmeters like this one since there's a bunch on amazon using the same exact shape: Hittime Mini DC 0V To 99.9V Red LED Digital Panel Volt Voltage Meter Voltmeter - - Amazon.com

The way it works is that it's just a bracket that pins it up against the headboard in the top left corner of the windshield. The hooks on top slide under the headboard. This might be kind of confusing, I can post pics if needed.
Right now I just have a makeshift mount but designed this so I can 3d print it.

Here is an idea and I will be glad to get measurements if someone wants to design it.
The seats in FJ Cruiser are to low. There is not an aftermarket riser for these seats. Looking at it I don't see it being a big deal to make. But then I am not an engineer or designer.

The problem is the front bracket bolts in at an angle. The back is parallel to the floor but the front is at an angle.

Is anyone up for this?

I can get it made if I have the design.

Need pictures, measurements, and 20% profit :D

By the way I had to brag I've now upgraded to SolidWorks 2014 Premium :guitar3: With that said I hate SolidWorks, specifically that none of the versions are cross compatible (even backwards compatible wtf) without saving it as a none SW file. So stupid and a cheap way to make people spend more.

You can have all the profit, I just want to raise up the seats in our FJ. But there is a market for it. Plenty of head room in the FJ and raising the seat gives better visual over the hood.

I will get some angles and measurements.

I have 2014 as well now that's why I always upload a step file along with the solid works file. Just something to keep in mind.

As for the seat risers I'll take a crack at it too since I am buying another printer shortly here lol

You can do the seat risers then, I don't want to design something if someone else already is haha

It would have been very easy for the Toyota Motor Corporation to go down the enticing road of making the new 4Runner more "carlike" and less "trucklike" in an effort to appeal to a broader audience. Fortunately, this is not the case

No shits given here I don't have a ton of time. We could double team it for all I Care lol

The new 3d printer should be here Wednesday so stay tuned for a bunch of new "toys" for the 4runner

Thinking about trying to make some 3D printed shift knobs with "t4r.org" or just "4runner" on them. Stay tuned...:eyebrows:

Gonna print this out this week at school. If it turns out well I'll add it to the library. I actually printed one out that was supposed to have "t4r.org" in raised lettering on it but it was too big, my hand just didn't fit comfortably around it. This one should fit perfectly into your palm, and it might even be a little small.

The translucent view showing where it slides down a bit and then the 8mm part starts. No threads in it but it's snug enough to where it threads itself well with minimal effort.

The old design that was too big:

3D Printed Spacer Lift?

Anyone have insight to if this would work? I have CAD'ed up a 5/8" spacer for my 4th gen to give around 1" of lift up front and was thinking about 3D printing it. The only reason I'm considering this is because I could get the spacers printed for free. It would be solid ABS plastic, no filling/bracing inside. I'm wondering how it would hold up to temp. changes, dirt, and the extreme pressure of the spring. I don't know enough about ABS to answer any of these questions, so I'm hoping someone else on here has insight.

If you send me the file I can run a quick FEA on it?

Yea, I'll send it to you when I get back to the house after school this afternoon. Don't have my laptop with me right now. I'm using sketchup so I'm assuming it exports the stl as if it were a "solid" piece, no weird density settings or anything?

Export as a .step file if possible. I can convert it to a solidworks file easily then.

From the results in this simulation it looks like you should be okay with a soild fill spacer. Keep in mind though that even though there is about a factor of safety of 2 on this model it doesn't specifically dictate how a 3d printed part will act since the model is "solid". For all we know the woven patter of a 3d printer could be stronger in compression, but we don't know. So just use this as a guideline and keep an eye on them after they are installed.
