x2 If I had gone with a tube bumper it would have been the Addicted Off road. They are very well built and the right price from a good guy.

If you are looking for a steel plate bumper then Outdoor Logic You can order it without the front hoops. Jimmy is great to work with as well.
Both of these guys are my friends and both will be straight forward and make you a killer bumper. You want to be sure you have enough room to add a winch later.

Our bumper is as tight to the body as you can get and still run a winch.

No, that would be needed only for a solid axle truck. You have the factory skid plate or a Budbuilt skid that would fit that. Obviously, with a solid axle, I needed something different.

If you're interested in seeing what an Addicted Off Road bumper looks like on a non-lifted '99 in tan (Desert Dune Mica,) here you go:
Side view. It really doesn't stick out that much:
Here's a 3/4 view from the left side:
Since I'm fortunate enough to live in CO, I picked mine up in person. Scotty normally sends them unpainted, but it only took me a few hours to paint mine. I primed it first with a nice flat black primer and then painted it with Hammerite dark grey hammered finish. I think it looks great and so far the paint hasn't chipped off. We'll have to see what happens come winter, though.

I know, but it looks nice and doesn't look like it would interfere with the stock skid.

It would interfere for sure. It bolts to the original tow hook mounts.
