Offroad Day (Tampa Area)

Hey guys, just thought I would get a little post started about an off-roading day.
Figured it’s better to start one earlier then later so that people can plan ahead. I know everyone that went to five guys last month was pretty interested in having one. Nole Runner mentioned may be doing a camp out weekend. I don’t know if that is going to work for me as a first go at off-roading, I know my dad wasn’t very pleased by the idea. But that doesn’t mean you guys can’t have one, I can always just head back early.
But I would still love to have an off-roading day with everyone. We can start a little conversation on here about times that what work best for everyone, maybe plan something before the end of the year. I’m pretty busy with school and Cross Country right now, but I can make time for a good day off-roading.

I know I'm missing some people so tag them if you can.

I'd be down for citrus. Closer to Tampa anyways. I hear it's pretty good place for wheeling but not as tough on the truck as hard rock. I'm not familiar with camping spots up there but I know I can find some info on it somewhere.

Citrus is cool, not as difficult as Hardrock (thinking about us 2WD guys) as there are plenty of bypasses if you don't think you can make it through. I've only been there maybe 3 times.

If y'all don't mind adding another I would be down to come along on a day wheeling trip. Haven't gotten a chance to take the new runner off road yet.

Citrus seems like a really nice place to offroad, its a long haul for me though. Quickly pluged it into Google Maps and it told me this 126 mi, 2 hours 8 mins :faint2:

I would love to go offroading but I dont know if this one is going to be okay'd by the parents. For me it would end up being a 275 mile trip all said and done.

Yeah that sounds about right.

Sucks there aren't any places to wheel around Sota. But it is worth it, Citrus is a lot of fun. Especially if you go with the right people who know the trail. My parents are in Sota and I visit them frequently. If it'll ease your parents mind We could drive as a pack up to Citrus. If you leave early enough in the morning you could be back before dark. :lookout:

How have I missed all these posts? Citrus is really close to where we go scalloping for our work trips. A pretty nice drive in the early AM to get there.

Do you guys know if we will need to obtain an WMA day pass? Any idea of a date?

Driving up together will proably help. I may just see if my dad wants to come with me. I really want an exuse to taking the running boards off lol.

Haha bring him along! Would you guys mind if one of my students (I teach high school english) tags along (if we set a date/location)? He knows Citrus like the back of his hand and his friend has an '83 Toyota pickup on 38s that wants to come too. My student has a lifted old F150.

Hey guys,

This thread seems to have fizzled out. Any plans for an offroad trip? Would like to get another run in before I get rid of my 4Runnner. Yes... I'm getting rid of the 4Runner after almost 12 years. :decision:

I will have some time off coming up around Christmas that I could probably do. My engine needed replaces so I have been down for a hot minute. But am back up and running but need to get a few thousand on the clock before I go bananas with anything.

Why would you want to sell the runner man!?

I would love to do something soon but I'll be out of town for that week around christmas. I'm getting valve cover gaskets and brakes looked at next weekend so I'll have to see what's up after that.
