Hello there, just got a steal on a 2007 with 54K on it, so far VERY happy with the truck (2007 SR5 V6 Silver). It is completely stock and I do a lot of outdoors stuff and well for hunting season for starters I need a trailer hitch on it for a hitch packer or trailer to hopefully sling a deer or 3 on. My main first question is what would be a good hitch to just haul a utility trailer with the possibility of anything in the future up to and over the max of 5000LBS as well as holding some weight for the hitch packer with a deer on it. I live up near the lake and well, it isn't called the rust belt for no reason. I want to make sure that whatever I buy will be up to snuff to the weights needed as well as surviving N.E.O. winters. Also has anyone installed a lighting kit personally, if so what all do you need and how difficult was it to install?

Real excited to be a part of the club and can not wait to get into some messes very soon!

Congrats on the deal!

The 4runner is amazing in the snow. I am in NEOH as well, out in the snowbelt, and she handles like a champ! :driving:

the OEM Hitch is more than enough. you can get them on ebay and they just bolt into the 6 holes on your rear cross member. I will have a spare one here in a few weeks I will be selling and I live on Columbus.

Have you installed the VSC off switch? After getting a little slippery around here recently I have noticed that its a SEVERE hinderance in well, just moving. I'll get to the middle of an intersection and it just damn near stops on me. I know you can flip the center diff lock on but thats not really ideal for pavement/snow/NEOH winter driving that we all know and loathe.

Sorry for the extremely late reply on this. I have not done the VSC off mod yet (though it is on my list to do). I also have rarely used the center diff lock. Most cases I am in the 4HI mode and hardly ever have any issues. How are your tires? I noticed the biggest improvement with my 4WD system by upgrading tires.

No, I am going to ride on the current tires until they die, I can not bring myself to get rif of tires with only 20-30k miles on them. Once they go bad I will for sure be getting some sort of offroad tire as well as at least doing a leveling kit if not a 2-4" lift. The only thing that I really would like to do soon is make the stereo actually sound good. I am a bit of a sound a tech junkie and would love to get a carplay unit in there along with maybe some under seat woofers if not a small woofer to put in the rear. I think I am going to perhaps tackle the VSC off mod here before winter.
 
I'm in Ohio too, Medina to be exact. I'm still shopping for a 4Runner, but hopefully by mid June or July, I'll have secured a 2016 Trail Premium.
Looking forward to meeting up with some local 4Runner lovers!

Congrats on your new T4R. I too just scored my first T4R. A 2006 SR5 with about 100k miles. Always wanted one of these trucks.
