Oil all over inner wheel

Hey gents,
I got oil all over the inside of my driver front wheel. I need help narrowing this down so I'm not buying parts I dont need. I'm in WI and I'm fighting the clock before it gets real cold out.

Let me know what you think. The brake fluid isn't low so I don't think it's that

I though wheel bearings were grease not fluid so my last guess would be the xreas.

Its cv axle grease. The boot is leaking. The boot is split closest to the hub

Two things I would do to identify the source location:

1: Assuming the oil was covering surfaces under the truck as you're driving, crawl under and move toward the front until you see no oil-covered parts. The oil will always drift rearward as you drive, so once you see dry, you'll know it's not further forward.

2: Spray brake cleaner to get rid of the oil you see. It'll dry everything off. Then take a short drive, park it again, and look for wet spots.

I had caught a tiny grain-of-sand size bit of debris under my oil filter gasket once, and it was easy to spot the leak once I dried everything off with brake cleaner.

While the boot is split, I don't think that's CV grease everywhere. Looks really watery. When my boots have split (happened a lot before using Toyota boots) it was big globs of thick black grease. It was mainly.on the spindle near the boot and piled on the LCA right under it. Not saying it can't be, just not my experience.

If definitely check the brake hoses/fittings and the xreas stuff too. Looks like it's coming from somewhere high because it's all over your caliper too.

I would also second that it’s CV grease. There’s some pretty noticeable globs in your pics. It will appear to bleed onto the surrounding parts and start to collect dirt and debris into it. Normally if it’s a break fluid leaking out of either the steel line, rubber hose, or caliper your would feel it in the pedal or at least notice a slight drop at stops. do you use synthetic oil?? ya know that stuff is super slick & will make every 4runner leak... scotty kilmer said so. might want to check your head gaskets too... :bolt:

It looks too thin to be CV grease, like montijo said. I can't see if thats a torn boot close to the wheel bearing side or just fluid residue giving that appearance. Wipe it with your finger and see what color it is, the outer CV grease is think and dark black, see pics. If its a light brown, then could be the xreas fluid. I don't have xreas on mine since I have an SR5, but based on how its all over the shock, that would be my guess

Though your boot is split, most of what can be seen is not grease.
Try to find the highest wet spot and start eliminating possible sources.
could be a ruptured PS line, but from the image below it looks like your XREAS line has a weep/leak either at the fitting or at this kink:
