I've had one on my '96 since about '97 and have about 225,000 miles on it. They are great and I highly recommend one. No need to worry about stripped oil pan threads.:banana:
 
not if you offroad...

Can't recommend these if you off road at all. Too easy to trip the drain lever on a rock and you're unaware anything has happened until the idiot light comes on and you've lost all the oil.

If you're an on road guy only they work great, but Fram used to make a product like this years ago and dropped it because of all the liability issues.
 
I have installed both Fram and Qwikvalves on several different vehicles and they both work great. The qwikvalve works perfectly on my 4R and is recessed enough that your skidplates can handle light offroading. But only use pan plugs if you do heavy duty offroading. I have one on my wife's Lexus as well.
 
wildcat....did you use any "tape" on the threads and how much torque did you think you put on it. Since it is a brass fitting, I don't want to strip it.
 
I haven't used any tape on mine. Just tighten them down snug, not too tight. They work great and make draining a snap. The oil filter on the other hand......
 
i love the fact that my oil filter is on top of the motor. i hope to change my oil next week so i will be able to slam this F103 right on in there.
 
I just put an F103N on mine last oil change. No leaks so far. I guess we'll see how I like it. I think it's a great idea! I would have gotten another for our other car if we weren't getting rid of it soon.

Spoke too soon. I've got a leak from the valve area. :(
Called them up and they acted like it could never be their product. But finally got the guy to agree to send me a new one before I do my next oil change (which may be a while since I've got Mobile 1 in her).
Kinda ticked me off... It just figures I get the one defective one
 
Have had one on my Tacoma for two years with no problems. I installed the N model, and it is so good to have NO excess oil in my garage.
 
@ Uneek. well i promise it was here yesterday. someone had posted a long news report about some guy and his crimes. Guess its gone now. Sorry for the alarm.
 
I have had them on my past 3 vehicles, including my current '07 4Runner and '10 Tacoma.

Excellent item, and I can see where folks may worry about the lever getting pushed, but I think it would take one of those "one in a million" hits to dent the skid plate, hit the lever, and then rotate it.

It is also a bit tight to get to the drain plug if you have bigger hands. I found this out on my in-laws' car due to a small opening to get in to the area.

Overall I find them to be an excellent, durable item that prevent an ungodly mess on your driveway or floor, and prevent minor burns from hot oil dripping all over your arm when the plug actually gets removed. Even less difficulty with a foot of plastic hose attached to the nipple (I'll let the jokes start flying on that last comment.)
