Oil Drain Valve (Fumoto F103)

I saw a post a few days ago about the "Fumoto Oil Drain Valves" and I had never heard of them before. I do all of my own oil changes so I checked it out. Looks like an awesome little gadget and would save a lot of mess that comes will removing the oil drain plug at every oil change. I ordered one from Amazon and will post again on how it seems to perform.

For the 3rd Gen T4R, it has a part number of F-103. If you want a nib to attach a drain hose to, there are options for that as well. I ordered one with the shorter nib.

I am looking forward to avoiding the "hot mess" of draining my oil when I install this ball valve gizmo. As I do not do any aggressive off-roading (yet) I am not to worried about damaging this thing on my daily drives.

Does anyone else have or use one of these?

Worked great on my Subaru. Just make share your oil is warm when draining or else it will take forever. I used the factory crush gasket because the rubber one supplied seeped a little.

For me messy part is removing oil filter, but over the time it is getting less messy.

I was always too paranoid to install one on my STI fearing something could hit and break off.

Like said above, taking off the drain plug just gets my hand dirty, it's the filter that has the greatest potential of getting all over the garage.

I've had one on my Supra for 3 years now and haven't had a single issue with it. If you're worried about something catching on it and opening it they make little clips that go on and prevent it from turning.

I don't have one on the 4Runner, but I usually just have firestone do my oil changes as they cost the same as me doing it myself... I may start doing them on my own soon though because they always leave a pretty good mess in the skid plates...
