I've read the Jiffy lube threads, but these were the guys that actually found that my filter had not been changed! I watched these guys do the work. I thought they did a fine job. I would love to do it myself, but how do I get under the truck, and what do i do with the used oil?
Get yourself a pair of ramps to drive the Runner up onto to give yourself more clearance to get to the oil pan and filter. Then buy yourself a oil change drain pan.
-Place drain pan under drain plug and pull plug draining all oil from vehicle (don't forget to remove the oil fill cap)
-Undo 4 bolts from and remove front skid plate (need socket extensions to get to 2 of the 4 bolts)
-Move oil drain pan to under oil filter (located on driver's side just off the inside corner of the tire about level with the bumper).
-Remove oil filter and set in oil drain pan to drian additional oil from filter (You may have to get a oil filter wrench to get the filter off)
-Get new filter out of box and use your finger to lube rubber gasket with fresh motor oil and hand tighten (As tight as you can get it with your hands. Do NOT use filter wrench as this could dent the oil filter, which is bad)
-Replace drain plug
-Pour 6.5 quarts of fresh oil into oil fill spout on top of the engine
-check filter location and drain plug location for leaks
-Replace front skidplate (I hate this part)
And you're done!! The first time might take you half an hour, but after that it will only take you 15-20 mintues (It would be shorter if we didn't have to remove that stupid skidplate). Anyone know of any oil filter relocation kits for the V8??
Total cost of reuseable Tools (Ramps, Drain Pan, Filter wrench) ~ $60
Total cost of supplies (Oil & Oil filter) ~ $20-$50 (depending on oil and filter used)
Just do it yourself!!

Good Luck!
Oh, and Checker, or a reputable parts store will usually dispose of your used oil for free...
