Oils coming from the rear calipers... Leaking axles!

I did a google search and didn't come up with much on our 4th gen. Both my rear axles are leaking oil through to the calipers and on. I've replaced the calipers thinking that was it but nope. Has anyone DIY the rear seals or bearings? Looking to take care of it myself but wondering how it's tackled.

I did the bearings and seals in December due to a bad bearing. Your case sounds like the inner seals are bad. The inner seals themselves are not too bad to do but there is a collar on the axle shaft that the seal rides against that will also more than likely have to be changed. The bad thing is the collar will have to be either pressed off or cut off to be changed and a new one pressed on. The bearings require a special tool in order to press them off. I had to take the shafts to Toyota as they were the only ones with this tool. Honestly, the hardest part (besides paying for all of this) was getting the parking brake shoe retainers back on.

Hmm what's a job like this cost? Seems like the bearings are ok, just leaking. I see a video for the 3rd gen and I'm wondering how close the 4th gens are to it? Will the leaking lead to bearing or axle failure? Boy.. First xreas leak, then dead shock, now leaking axles. Guess I'll take care of one at a time. I guess not too bad for having 155k miles now with no problems. I just don't want to buy the seals and not be able to get to them.

Yes, having no problems till 155k is not too bad. My wife had an '09 GMC Acadia with 39k on it and you would not believe the absolute TSUNAMI of problems that piece of domestic crap had occur within a three month period. The day I got rid of it was a great day indeed!
