Hey, my buddy and i where going to have lunch today. His wife had his Tahoe. So he was driving her BMW 3 series. I was not sure which way this restaurant was, so i was following him. We drove about 10 miles through some very curvy and winding roads. At one time we got on the crosstown freeway and i stayed with him the whole time.
He called me on my cell and said he was trying to loose me, and was surprised the 4Runner was doing so well on the turns and curves. And i have to tell you, this is the first time i have really let loose with the new 4Runner. And well, i am so very impressed. The traction control, the X-reas, all of it. I handled very well and was solid. I knew i made the right choice sticking with Toyota, but now i am even more sold.

Mark, that is so kewl, i was gonna ask you guys how a lift kit affects handling and ride. I was thinking of adding a 1/2 inch with Revo tires and then maybe a 2" lift kit....

My 01 handled very well and my 03 handles even better. The XREAS does the right stuff. THe 3" lift did not phase it either. I love to drive it.

The xreas does the right stuff. The 4.5" lift did not phase it either. I love to drive it.

p.s. -- right now I have 14+" ground clearance ... but pretty soon it'll settle to 13+" ... much closer to Mark's. he'll still whip my butt out on the trails though.

It has to be the X-REAS. There's no way our 4Runner (w/o XREAS)could keep up with my 3 Series on the curves.

Even with the V6 the 4runner is a great machine performance and handling wise. Although I did have the chance to fool around in my buddys 545i the other week....lets just say I shouldn't have.

Mark....do you have any more info on the lift kit?....If you posted about it, could you post the link?

As far as 4.5" above stock, that'll settle to around 4" ... but if you get bigger tires, you may very well be taller than me.

I think we'd have fun wheeling together, cus I felt a little out of place at 360 as the only 4th gen.! Could you stand to wheel with an u.h.o.m. some day?

I like your color lots, and actually I hope you know I really respect you and admire your 4R. Anything I say in sarcasm or jest, is just me being silly. In the actual heart of this u.h.o.m., I of course very much like you, sir. And am glad to get to wheel with you and your wife sometime soon.

Yup I have it, very costly but worth it considering how much fun I've had. I do more reading that posting thats why you don't see me much. I'm still around though
