Howdy all,
I've been around these forums for a while, but never got around to making a Build Thread.
I'll just start with where I'm at right now, and the things I've done to the runner recently and we'll take it from there.
All other modifications made are in my sig.

New wheels and tires this weekend:



Back end is a bit low due to ~500lbs of old tires, wheels and sliders in the cargo area.

Old BudBuilt Bumpout Sliders, New Paint Job

Just got these back from the paint shop!
My bro in law paints oilfield equipment, and he threw a few mils of gloss black on em, as well as some kickass slip stop around the outer rail. Turned out pretty damn good I'd say.

HAM Radio Install: Yaesu FTM-400DR, Comet CA-2x4SRNMO

The New Radio went in the other day. Nice custom install by a shop here in town.

The head unit is connected to a heavy duty RAM suction cup mount by a 1" ball to M6 threaded stud adapter. The back of the head unit requires an M5 thread so I had to source an M6 to M5 adapter to get it to come together.
This configuration works much better than the old RAM x-mount I was using, as it causes absolutely no interference with the GPS receiver.
The connector cable is routed up behind the dash and comes out through a hole which I understand is meant for the light sensor in models with that feature.





As for mounting of HT and Tablet, here's some pictures of what I've done. Essentially I've hard mounted a 1" ball with diamond base, that I use to hold both my HT and my tablet. When not in use it's small and unobtrusive and you don't even know it's there.
All RAM Mount parts, and if you're interested, the part numbers for the Tablet assembly are at the bottom of the post after the pictures:







RAM-B-101U-C: Double socket arm with 1" B size(1" socket), 5.2" socket to socket length and two round AMPS pattern bases.
RAM-HOL-TAB-SMU: RAM Tab-Tite Kit for 7" tablets.
RAM-HOL-ROTO1U: RAM Roto-View adapter.
RAM-B-238U: RAM 2.43" x 1.31" Diamond Ball Base with 1" Ball and AMPS compatible hole spacing.

The new CountersteerX's, are machined to accept the TRD center caps without modification. Check out THIS thread. Anymore questions and I'm sure [MENTION=67103]JdMeF9SiR2[/MENTION] will be able to help you.

*NEW AS OF MAY 2014 - The 17" Konig Countersteer Type X wheels are now hub centric for 6-lug Toyotas and the lug holes are sized for 12mm Toyota studs for an even more precise fitment. These new Konig Countersteer Type X wheels now also accept the popular flat type OEM center cap from Toyota : Part # PTR18-35092.
 
Offroading in Waiparous

Took a quick trip out to the mountains today with a few friends who have never been on this particular trail. For one of them it was their first time ever to the mountains, so it was quite a day for everyone!











Yeah, it's a heep, but it's a nice one ;)
 
Here's a few shots from this weekend's trail run to Crowsnest Pass Alberta and British Columbia.

Everyone aired down and ready to head in to the camp site for the night.

And after. Sliders came out without a scratch, looks like paint job didn't fair so well :(


I keep telling myself it looks meaner now.

Carpet is dry, and no standing water underneath. I'll attribute that mostly to getting to it quick and parking it off camber to let it drain properly. That and having a ridiculous amount of rags and towels in my camp box, which oddly enough I didn't use a single other item out of, lol!

Budbuilt Aluminum IFS Skid Plate and Icon LCA Skid Plates

Well, I finally got started on the skid plates.


They're the Aluminum version which are expensive as hell to begin with especially with the exchange right now, but with the shipping up to Canada to boot, I figured I'd just do them one at a time or I wouldn't be able to afford anything else.


Icon LCA skids went on at the same time. Tacked them on to an order from Metaltech a while back and finally got around to getting them put on the truck.


Also got an ARB breather installed so I could tie the Rear Diff, Front Diff, TCase and Tranny in to the same manifold. Was thinking of putting together my own kit with some heavier duty fuel hose and barbed fittings, but after having a chance to see the ARB kit in person, I decided that it would be more than sufficient. I and my gear boxes will breath a little easier now during water crossings.
