Old Man Emu vs. Toytec Ultimate

I had the OME lift on my FJ and the Toytec Ultimate on my 4runner and the ride difference is huge!! My 4runner rides like a dream! Not to mention that it soaks up harsh bumps like a knife through butter! I highly recommend the Toytec ultimate if you have the funds, but if the OME is all you can get its not bad either. Good luck! Do remember which OME shocks you had? 139 or 140's on the front? 141 or 142's on the rear?

Is it just me or are the Ultimate kits really cranked up from the factory? It seems to really be a lot of lift and I am curious the angles that the CV's are put at.

first blairb , let me state that if i lived in socal again,(spent 1978 in hesperia & victorville) id set my t4r up just like yours, looking good! love the black wheels. yes, in my opinion they are set too high from the factory.toytec states theyre adj .CO give 1-3 & 1/2 , most other brands say 0-3. i believe thats what people forget, when they get them , theres 1 & 3/4 thread showing , if they get them as part of the 3 in. kit all they have to do is turn it down to 1 & 1/4 thread showing , that should give it a nice "rake" so the front wont look nose high like some people think it does.but to each his own.

Thanks Chaz! I know my coilovers are supposed to be 0-3 like most others, but I have zero thread showing and I am still at 3ish inches of lift, so I have learned to ignore what they say.

Blair, what do you think of the Fox coilovers? I've seen those on a lot of trucks but not on a 4R before. If you don't mind me asking, were they expensive? Worth the price?

Fox are definitely pricey but they preform amazingly. You really do not need remote reservoirs unless you are running fast for an extended period of time but I definitely took full advantage of them this weekend. They do a great job at keeping the vehicle stable and smooth and helped travel quite a bit. I am actually getting so much up travel that i am rubbing my inner fender up top, so that will probably need to go. I will also have to look into limiting straps since there is such an increase in droop. They definitely allow me to push my truck more and I found myself with 4 tires off the ground more than a few times this weekend.

I just started a thread on my new setup- I feel bad clogging up this one any more.

That's because you have a V6, and I also wonder if those have 700lb coils on them. When my SAW's had 700lb coils on them, I didn't get that much lift even when we had to crank them all the way up in Big Bear that one time.
