Ole girl needs some TLC

Hey guys, kind of an intro...I lately acquired an '00 4runner and she needs some LOVE. I did the head gaskets back in January and it reacted extremely well to that. Now its on to getting the suspension, exhaust, and brakes in order.

I got underneath yesterday to inspect the air/fuel sensors and sure enough, the rear one didn't even have nuts holding it in, it was just rattling loose. The forward sensor has two rounded off nuts, but it is tight in the exhaust so I'm going to replace the rear for now and see what codes remain.

What I need some help with is the front suspension. The front right cv axle outer boot exploded so of course great has been slung everywhere. In cleaning that up I noticed that the LBJ's have some old grease on them. So my question is, what would really be worthwhile to replace while I tear this thing apart for the cv axle? I figure I should do that, the LBJs, maybe TREs? The shocks are gone as well but I'm going to wait and just put on a Toytec set of lift coilovers when I can. Just want to have a solid foundation first.

Any recommendations of things to replace while I'm in this are much appreciated. Wanna get this girl back in shape!

Assuming you have OEM CV axles, just reboot those.
Make sure to get OEM lower ball joints (from a dealer). We recommend replacing those every 100K miles. If the TRE's are worn, then you can replace those as well, again, stay with OEM. Avoid 555 branded suspension parts even though they claim it is from Japan.
You can get OEM parts for cheap at Camelbacktoyota in AZ. They even got free shipping above $150. Use "TWpartz" to get another 3% discount.

OEM LBJ's only

Amazon sells them for cheap also directly from Toyota.

OTE's if they need it, I used Duralast gold OTE's and they have held up fine for about 16 months. If you are going to rock crawl and all that jazz, you should probably go with OEM.

If you have an auto, you should replace the radiator also (search pink milk shake).

Extended rear diff breather mod
Change all fluids

You can reboot but it's a time consuming & messy job. Buy NEW not remanufactured CV's from Napa, no exchange needed & reboot your OEM's at your leisure. My Napa's are doing fine after 1(PS) & 2(DS) years now.

Moog stuff is terrible for our trucks.

So they're not bad eh? That's what I was thinking..get OEM for the TREs, and LBJs and go with Napa for the CV axle. That makes me feel better. Definitely no real aggressive wheeling will be done in this. Just don't have the place for it.

Get a new radiator from Amazon while your at it (Denso, about 100 bucks). Change it out when you replace your coolant.
