OME 885 at .85

I have OME 885 and 5100's at the 0" setting and 1/2" top spacers. I also have superflex rears with Daystar spacer to correct for lean. I am about 2 inches higher in the rear.

I know they don't suggest putting the 5100's at .85 but this would level me out. Anyone have 885's at .85 or does anyone have input? a middle wheel to fender measurement would be great if you do.

Not sure the 5100 could handle the stiffer springs with that setting.
I have the same setup due to the bumper. I used a HD spring compressor to put mine together and I couldn't compress the springs enough to install the 5100's.

I'm just using that as a reasoning for my statement.

I really don't want to buy coilovers to get it to level out completely. Anyone have any other thoughts and info on this?

I know what you mean having fun... I didn't feel safe having that much pressure on a auto zone compressor so I took it in and had them do it.

I have a set of pre load spacers from my spacer kit I had before, just remove your top spacers.

Between my top load and 3/8" top spacer, it gave me a 3" lift. If your interested in that route. Just thought of something also. If you install longer studs, you might see about adding another 1/2" top spacer. If I remember right, they give you 1" of lift.
Not sure if that would work in principle. Might summons ARK_SWAMP_RIDER on that as I know he has tried many different setups.

The "HD" spring compressor does not sound very heavy duty. The spring rates on our trucks are not that high compared to some other much heavier vehicles.

Correct, the 885's are NOT OEM rated springs.
I did get them to install with the spring compressor.

do you have top plate spacers? id go that route first. 1/4" spacers are $15 from wheelers

Yeah man try the 1/4 spacer with the 885s and the billys on the lowest setting. Id like to see what gains you get after installing them. :naughty:

Yeah I have the 1/4 top plate spacers already which are supposedly a 1/2" lift and I'm still low in the front.

front is 37.75" and rear is an even 40". I think if I get the bigger toytec top out spacers along with my BL I'm putting in. it will look level. I still would like opinions on the .85 setting.

What about THIS on top with the 1/2" spacers removed?

I would net .75" of lift..

886's ? Ride will suffer with no added weight but probably get you level w/o spacers.

After reading the Tacoma forums and seeing that other people have put their 885's on .85 I decided this is what I'm going to do. I'd have to disassemble and reassemble if I did thicker spacers anyway due to needing longer studs.

I will update you guys on the ride and height difference.

I actually decided last minute to go a different route with the front lift. I ordered 1/2" aluminum top plate spacers that I am going to install for a 7/8"-1" lift up front to level it out more. I went to my local lift shop to ask them about the .85 setting and they highly advised against it. The top plate spacers are coming this week and will be stacked with my 1/4" spacer (yes, its confirmed safe).

They will go in on wednesday

I have a very similar set up to you suspension wise. I’m just missing the 1/2 front spacers. How’s your set up been - any issues with CV angles/alignment? Assuming you need new UCAs at with the 1/2 inch spacers?
