OME 891 or Tundra or LC rear coils etc?

Hello - I'm looking to reduce the rear sag in my '99 when loaded with gear, and have read a great deal about various airbag (Air Lift or Coil Rite) and shock options. Many seem to have an OME setup.

Are there any other coils that can be ordered new, that are comparable to OME 891's? LC? Tundra?

LC coils will lift your rear end 3.5-4". If your not lifting the front thats not a good idea. Research 99 OEM coils. Be yoru best bet IMO.

Unfortunately, I already installed a set of new OEM '99 coils and still wasn't able to carry a load of gear without rear sag. Would you happen to know the part number for the LC coils, or the model/year that fits the '99?

LC coils are from Land Cruisers. Research the TRD/LC coil thread to find correct part#'s and coil color codes you need. The LC coils will give major lift and they dont handle weight that well. They are soft and flex really well offroad. Handle well on road but not best for loads. Sometimes airbags are added to LC coils to fix that issue.

OME heavy duty coils may be best option for you. They wont lift as much, handle more weight but be really rough when no weight is in the back.

good advise on the LC coils. keep in mind if you go that route sonoran steel makes a custom air bag for the LC's. I believe the standard kit WILL NOT WORK.

Yes. They are for 660 lbs constant over gvw. Check ARB/OME website for specs on springs for 4Runners

How about OME 906? If your staying stock 99 talls in the front, these are perfect for reducing sag. I also haul a 21' wake boat and these are awesome! Ride is still great, gives a little lift to the rear and they handle a lot of weight. Do a search.

Any coil made to handle weight will be stiff unloaded. Period. You cant have both. Its why people use air bags on softer coils if loading a lot and towing.

And what many call stiff is very compliant to others. Trying to define what is or isn't stiff is a crapshoot.

I love the ride of my 891s while many complain (apparently they want their "truck" to ride like a sedan). My other drivers are and F350 and F450, so I welcome the soft ride of any coil spring.

I use oem suspension as my base. If it feels more stiff than stock. I call it stiff ride. My 881's where stiff. Added bumper and winch. It's now soft.

I had OME in my 2001 and I just installed it today on my 2006. My vote is always for Old Man Emu.

They are not too stiff! Just right

Toytech Superflex coils handle quite well and provide a good ride quality.
They would look a little silly without the front lifted as well

They are stiff but not harsh at all. We haul our kids around in the runner as it's the daily driver and no complaints whatsoever. The 901's actually improved the handling as well (less body roll made it more responsive). I'd say they sould have come from the factory this way. Stock rears are way too soft in my opinion.
The rest of my truck is stock... I'm running 99 talls in front with bilstein shocks all around.

Just talking 3rd gens here. Bought mine with 80,000kms (55,000ish miles). The rears were really soft. Added a trailer hitch and put a bike rack with 4 bikes on it and a bit of gear in the back.. and the ass end dips down... that is ridiculous my friend Not hatin on the runner, just sayin the OME 901's are the perfect balance.. in my opinion!

So if I want to go the mid-lift route, and run 906s in the rear, what would be best for the front if I am running an aftermarket, (Shrockworks), bumper?

I have been going back and forth on different lift options and combinations reading as many different treads as possible. I started off thinking that 99 talls would be good but then I got thinking about the additional weight of the front bumper, and figured the 99s would not be the best route.
