OME Coils + Bilstein 5100?

Thank you. My OME's specify a 2" lift, so I was torn between 0 or 0.85. I'm trying to get a leveled stance after I install the 2" Toytec rears.

I would think .85 and 885s would be too much lift up front.
Probably over 3.5"

Of course there are a lot of guys running toytec boss at around 4" of lift up front and it looks good with the toytec springs in the rear. Most advise against that much lift though...

That's because the wrench they give you breaks before you can even crank them down.

Bilsteins and ?

I am looking to add a lift to my 2014 SR5 w/ third row and can't decide which route to go. I currently have Bilsteins on all 4 with the front at 0.85". The route I had chose to use was what NWA16711 used, Toytec coils front and rear with front Bilstein at 0.85". I spoke with Toytec and they advised against using their coils with any lift on the Bilsteins. They then advised setting the front at 0 and using the adjustable front coilover kit for Bilsteins (part TTAFCS-CK-210) and Superflex rear coils. I will not be adding aftermarket bumper, winch, etc., or carrying significant weight in the rear cargo area so HD coils won't be necessary for my application. I simply want a 3/2 lift for aesthetics and rare offroad use. I would simply like to have close to level or slight forward rake. The adjustable CO's recommended by Toytec leave some margin for error vs simply the coils.

Thoughts on using the following setups with my current Bilsteins set at 0
1. thebwlife lift - Front OME 884 - Rear Toytec Superflex. The only difference is he is using OME struts vs Bilsteins. Will this make a difference in overall height?
2. STLDAVE lift - Front Toytec adjustable CO - Rear SAW 1.5. I believe this will give a slightly lower rear height vs the Toytec Superflex.

Do I spend the extra $230 on the adjustable CO kit vs coils only, or will the 884/Superflex combo give me the desired outcome?

Then the dilema of 255's vs 285's. I am leaning toward the 255's but would love to see one in person prior to deciding.

I wish my fronts were adjustable. Now if/when I get a winch & skid plates I'll need to swap springs. I like my superflex rears though.

Since you already have the Bilsteins up front, I'd get the toytec ultimate kit that toytec sells for like $450 that includes the adjustable collar, springs, and wrench. That way, you can dial in the exact amount of lift you want and adjust for any side to side variance. If you just get some springs like the 884s, you will be stuck with whatever lift they provide.

For the rear, it just depends on how much lift you want. The toytec superflex seem to give about 2.5" and the SAWs give about 2".

I have the 884s on Bilsteins and have issues with side to side and front to rear height. If I had the coilovers, it could be easily fixed.

Thanks shaneotool. I believe the part# I listed is the one you are talking about and what Toytec recommended. Looks like the adjustables are the route I will go.

I'm surprised they advised against using their coils as they sell their coils with bilstien 5100's in their lift kits - and they are the ones who helped me put my kit together. It does look like they switched the coils they use in their front lift kit (TTAFCS-HA2010) from the 112-620's to the the 521600's. I haven't had any problems withe the 112-620's. They are actually made by Eibach.

NWA16711 they advised against setting the Bilsteins at anything other than 0 with their coils.

Maybe the 521600's are longer coils than the ones in the old kit. Their current kit 3" Lift W/ Bilstein 5100 Height Adj Coilovers FJ/4Runner says the front lift is 3 inches, so either the coils are longer or the setting is at .85. The toytec/eibach coils I used in the old kit wouldn't get you 3 inches of lift set at zero. If what they are saying is correct you should be able to just order the 521600 coils and get 3 inches of front lift.

Couldn't be happier with the Toytec kit and SAW rear coils. Toytec had a choice of 600 or 620 lb. rate springs. I took the 600s but would recommend the 620s if you're going to add more than a winch to the front. The SAWs in the rear worked out to about 1.75-2.00 lift after all was said and done. It seems to me the members who went the OME route seemed to report a stiffer ride than I have experienced with my setup.

I have the exact set up contemplated in the first post. It is an outstanding set up. My '13 drives like a G-Wagon and has never bottomed out on type of logging road or other high-speed running, yet it remains very compliant for low-speed work requiring axle articulation. Of course, I am running 10-ply Load Range E tires, too which also help to stiffen up the ride. FYI, I think the stock spring / shock configuration is so soft as to be unsafe during evasive maneuvers.

While I am aware of how the 5100 functions for doing a "shock lift", my impression is that the height setting of the 5100's in this application with the OME's is simply to get the shock into the correct length range for the added length of the springs.

One last thought... make sure you do the upper control arms at the same time. I did my entire suspension upgrade before the truck had 3000 miles and it has performed flawlessly since then.

Know this is an old thread but with the hundreds of lift threads I have read felt it better than starting a new one. Guess I am really confused as to what I need to do as I only want to do it once. Trying to manage the budget across many "wants" for the new ride.
Stock 2016 TEP with KDSS about 6 weeks old at this point. I don't 4x4 often however I am in Colorado and venture out often to some fun remote locations. My H3 took everything in stride but loving the ride of the TEP now.

So far I am planning on Bilstein 5100s on the front and rear. Going to max the front height of the shocks. Don't want to have to buy the UCAs so going to stay under the 3" height. Two shops recommended the ToyTec Superflex RCC2.0 coils for the rear. Guess the Icon 52700 springs would work as well (2"). I was thinking the SAW 1.5" coils to minimize rake. Any input on one vs another?

Was wondering since the front shocks have to have the OEM coils reinstalled should I add aftermarket coils to the front as well? I see where many have done this but this is where much of my confusion comes in. Don't want to feel every bump as a DD but not sure of what the benefit of the front coils vs the shock lift bring. Any input appreciated on that one.

Lastly, is it better to wait on the alignment after the lift till I have the new wheels/tires in place?

Thanks in advance!!!
