Okay guys, I've finally gotten about $1100 saved up for my lift, with another $20-40 added each week from my paycheck. I have a few questions I'm debating upon. I will give you my choice equipment I am debating about using.
Lift Options : Full 2.0" suspension kit for $1390.00 Or OME full suspension Light Duty w/top out spacer for 3" for $891.70
So those are the two lifts I'm considering, now I'm debating the route to go for tires, 285/70R17's or 255/75R17's. I know if I use the 285's I will most likely need to use Light Racing Upper Control Arms. $469.74 Plus lots more trimming!
The tires I plan on using are made by https://www.treadwright.com, it will be their GUARD DOG M/T's $100 to $120 a tire depending on size.
So I really would like the 285's, but with that I would have to add $469.74 (UCA) to my total lift/tire combo for the UCA's not to rub since I am going to use the stock rims.
So with the OW + tires (255/75) it would be approximately 1390 (say $80 for shipping) + 514.48 = $1,984.48 - $1100(savings) = $ 984.48(out of pocket)
So with the OME + tires (255/75) it would be approximately $891.70 + 514.48 = $ 1,406.18 - $1100(savings) = $ 306.18(out of pocket)
OR
So with the OW + tires (285/70) it would be approximately $1390 (say $80 for shipping) + $600 (approximately for tires) + $469.74(UCA) = $2,539.74 $- $1100(savings) = $ 1,439.74 (out of pocket)
So with the OME + tires (285/70) it would be approximately $891.70 + $600 (approximately for tires) + $469.74(UCA) = $1,961.44 $ - $1100(savings) = $861.44 (out of pocket)
So I guess what I'm finally asking is since I don't want to spend a ton of $$ for out of pocket expenses, should I go the skinny tire route and forgo using the UCA's with the suspension? I like the things I've read about the OW 2.0 setup versus the OME setup from the feedback thread about the 2.0's. So I'd much rather use the OW setup. Then in the future when I need new tires again just get the UCA's then with the 285's?
Or should I get the larger tires with the OME setup + the UCA's?
