Omnibus Lift Info w/ XREAS

I have been researching for my new 2006 SE for a couple weeks and can't seem to find any one good place with a summary of all lift options for a truck with the XREAS system. (Also I'm assuming mine has XREAS because all SE do right?) Can someone explain the options and consequences of each? Like, spacer lifting, new shocks, what option does or does not require deleting the XREAS, what is a leveling kit or a kit that only contains just the front pieces and why, etc etc?

Since you don't want to put the cart before the horse so to speak, you might want to confirm you do indeed have or still have XREAS, look at your shocks, if you have XREAS they will have hydraulic hoses going to them, if no hoses then it's been replaced already or it never had XREAS.

Yeah I keep seeing that referenced in (decade old) posts. A "Daystar 2.5 / 1.5" but I cant find that product. These are the only 4 things on the Daystar website when you rank by 2006 Toyota 4Runner:

my new 08 SE has XREAS too. I actually dont mind them so far, they ride pretty great.

I'm in the same boat. 2008 Sport Edition.

Basically it comes down to this - If you want to keep the XREAS system, then spacer lifts are your only option.

Anything else (coil/shock lifts) would require you to delete the XREAS system completely.

Now you know you do indeed have XREAS, now do a good inspection to confirm you see no leaks/wet areas on the shocks, hoses and pump(canister thing), if no leaks and you like the ride comfort, keep the system until it does start having leaks and then worry about replacing the shocks for regular shocks.

As mentioned if you keep the XREAS, spacers are the only way to do a suspension lift.

Believe it or not, the XREAS is pretty EASY to rip out if you want to do the lift yourself. A buddy and I did the XREAS delete and installed 5100s in about 4 hours total. I just snipped the lines after letting the system drain into a pan and just ripped it all out.

Spacers are trash, XREAS is trash. Rip that shit out and put some eibach coils & shocks on there and love it.
