Your wife like lifted trucks or did you take it from her? :whip2:
In the end, maybe a little of both?
She understood from the beginning that we needed something to go camping in that could get further than the A6 (which went plenty of borderline places). Then I just started in with rational like "Those running boards are going to get damaged off road". So she agreed we'd take them off. Then she didn't like how much frame was visible...Perfect, we'll replace the running boards with sliders! The lift it's got was all part of the sliders project if ya know what I mean. Then the deal on the 285's fell in my lap at the tire store.
Baby steps...
She likes it better now because the visibility is improved and she was impressed with the places it could go. She also knows that something else will come along and she'll be driving that next.

Looks great; I guess your dog approves as well.

Audis have their merit in the car world, but their electrical gremlins can be frustrating to fix.

Yeah, they can be super needy sometimes. Nothing I haven't been able to fix myself though. We kept mine :biggrin2:

Nice man. I dumped my 03 A4 Avant a year or so ago. I do miss it, however I don't miss the repair bills. It got to the point where I couldn't do it myself anymore and the car was a money pit. Yours looks very nice my friend.

That was one of my A4 Avants issues. Crazy, psycho gremlins too. That wagon would just do the weirdest things, very random electrical issues.

IMHO, Owning a german car is like dating a supermodel. They are super needy and expensive but are extremely fun to look at and drive. Owning a 4Runner is like dating a 6/10. Looks good, goes anywhere, does anything you ask, and is pretty inexpensive to maintain.

Hence me owning a 4Runner and looking to buy a VW or Audi.:biggrin2:
