Online tire retailers

So i've said it quite a few time lately, but, im trying to finish getting all the pieces together for my lift. I've got a spring wheeling trip planned, so its gotta get done before then!

That being said, the only thing left on the list is to get tires. Im wondering if there is a good go to for online tires. I checked tire rack and another online discount tire place, but wasn't sure what everyone else opinion was.

I use Discount Tires online. Order the tires, usually cheaper than at their store, shipped free to my house with all the rebates and no sales tax. Then I take them to the Discount Tire store and get them mounted. I think I end up saving about $80 to $100 per set vs. the store.

I got my KO2s there. Was the cheapest of all the places I looked at including Discount Tire and Tire Rack. Free shipping. I go to my local discount tire and tell them what I want. They give me a price and I then ask them if a certain company with a large amount of fleet vehicles gets a discount there because I work for that company (company doesn't matter, it just sounds good). They say they don't think so and say but I will give you a better rate....then after all the haggling I make them throw in a new set of lug nuts.

Discount tire is the way to go. When I got the tires few weeks ago, they even retorqued the wheel spacers! Finally they tight all the lug nuts with a torque wrench.

They usually give rebates in March and November each year.

Around here (California) on the local craigslist there are many smaller installation shops that advertise extremely good prices. Maybe you should check your area, just search the tire size and select "titles only" search the size in each of the following ways:

I just go to discount tire locally and beat them up with pricing.

I find the cheapest or the cheap online, and make them match the tire price. Sometimes it makes it look like you pay more on paper, but they come in cheaper by discounting or mounting for free.

Plus, should you have issues, it's always easier to go to a local place and get stuff taken care of without shipping a tire or waiting for warranty stuff out of state.
