nice , I though a classic vehicle had to be at least 25 years old , so if TheeMikeB is correct my 85 is an antique , its almost 29 years old

I would love our own section for classics, but I honestly don't think that a 2nd gen section by itself would last very long. Plus it wouldn't be fair to guys like Riff Raff, footofgod and etc. these guys provide some good info on these boards.

Well my source is Wikipedia, you can go in and modify it to be so. Heck if one were so inclined someone could write an entire page on "Classic 1st Gen 4Runners".

So true Aram. It wouldn't be the same. FOG and Riff Raff are two of the most respected members on here. They are always a source for excellent advice. The Minnow and Honey Badger are two of my favorite rigs.

that probably depends on the state your vehicle is registered in. not all states have "classic" plates; perhaps not all have "antique" plates, either.
my '87 has antique plates, which NH allows for 25 y/o vehicles and older. to the best of my knowledge, NH does not have classic plates available. i've got the same antique plates (well, different numbers) for my '75 jeep and '48 dodge.

TBH I love a classics, second gens are... eh... well other than the minnow(no offense to anyone else) ugly..... and inconvient. 3rd gens are my love. 4th and 5th... well... ewwww....
But 1st and 3rds.... I"ll take that action any day

No offense, but this is just a bizarre argument. Saying the 2nd Gen is "inconvenient"? I'll remember that when you're fighting to get your gear out of your TWO-door classic (LOL). Talk about a pain--I've only had one for a few weeks and I already hate that about it. Then to go even further, you say that the 2nd Gen is ugly, yet you'll gladly take a 3rd Gen...which is nearly identical in looks! If you're going to make a point, at least try to make sense, friend.

It's all personal preference. To me, I can see the resemblence, but they look like a worlds of difference. So to each there own.
