No offense, but this is just a bizarre argument. Saying the 2nd Gen is "inconvenient"? I'll remember that when you're fighting to get your gear out of your TWO-door classic (LOL). Talk about a pain--I've only had one for a few weeks and I already hate that about it. Then to go even further, you say that the 2nd Gen is ugly, yet you'll gladly take a 3rd Gen...which is nearly identical in looks! If you're going to make a point, at least try to make sense, friend.

Who needs rear doors. Get a soft top and reach over the side of the runner.

I smashed my left rear actually WHEELING my 2nd gen, that made it sag. Now I'm getting ready to build a steel bumper with tire carrier and high lift mount. Will that make you feel better?

No, roll cages are for people who wheel their 4runners hard enough where they could possibly need it. You might consider one since you roll over on flat trails. If you actually got off camber, you'll be wishing you had one.

i have no problem with removing the gear from my 1st gen. it's got a rear gate, same as all the others, and my chit is all in the cargo area, not in the rear seat area. more room in the cargo space than my subaru had, too, which is nice.
