Only Rear Passenger Window Is Dead - Help

Hey gang, all windows and sunroof work great except the pass rear from both drivers switch and that door switch. I'm guessing there's not a fuse for just that window and my bud grabbed me a new salvaged switch just to see but no luck.

Anything cheap and easy to check before pulling the door panel off and guessing?? Thanks.

Note: If it matters, I use the child lock daily for my dog who rolls it down and bails if she sees a bird, but functions fine on d side.

To start with, attached is the 2000 Power Window EWD.

This suggests you want to pull the switch and see if you have 12V+ on the blue-red wire and ground on the red-yellow and green wires. If you do, then you want to jump power and ground to the motor and see if it works. If you don't, post back and we'll go from there.

You need a 12V test lamp or a digital multi-meter. If you need help with that, post back and we'll go step-by-step.

One of my rear windows didnt work when I bought my truck.
I wasnt entirely sure where to start but here is what I did:

swapped the rear window switch from the working side: no change

took the door panel off, jumped window motor from battery. Window would go up and down but no switch would work to operate the window.

removed the drivers switch assembly. The metal inside had lots of green on it from water getting in there over the years. Took some of the plastic off the switch and cleaned it somewhat by scraping the green gunk away with a screw driver. Once re-installed everything was working. The window has worked ever since without issue, 2 years.

Good troubleshooting. If he does not have ground on either red-yellow or green wires in my test above, that is where he should go next. No need to test motor like you did.

Do you still live in Fullerton?
 
Check the wire loom going from the rear hatch to the body. Most breaks occur there and are pretty simple to fix. If nothings visibly broken, continue with [MENTION=10169]TheDurk[/MENTION]s by the book trouble shooting.

Also make sure the rear window wiper is seated correctly. There's a safety switch that prevents the window from going down if it isn't.

Rear passenger window, not back window (liftgate).

Great to hear from ya, I sold the Fullerton home I was renting a couple months and been full time here in Green Valley for about a year and love it. If you ever want to get dirty give me a holler and come on up!

Funny thing that, I now teach Auto at Fullerton High School
