I see why there are so many tire/wheel questions, 'cause it ain't always clear, or clear as mud!
Anyway, I have seen some 2010 17" 4Runner six spoke wheels on eBay for $550 plus $118 shipping. Then I'd have to buy some BFG A/Ts 265/70R17 from tire rack, tires cost $772 plus $81 for shipping, then have to pay to get them mounted and balanced for a total (before mount and balance) of $1521
I can get the BBS wheels off eBay, too, for $550 plus probably the same for shipping, so with BFGs it would be almost the same total price, but have to pay for mount and balance.
Or, order the BBS wheels from Tire Rack plus the BFGs with free mount and balance (probably saves me about $100), plus shipping of $116 comes to virtually the same as above, but I have the tires mounted and balanced, ready to put 'em on.
If I bought the wheels and tires separate, then I could switch over the TPMS (any trick to this....I've seen some 'repair kits' offered, are these needed?), but have to pay for mount and balance, but would have TPMS (not that big a deal to lose, just have a light always on dash)
If I buy the package (BBS plus BFGs) at Tire Rack, I get free mount and balance, but wouldn't have my TPMS to switch over, so would always have that little light on the dash.
I'm still leary on fitment of the BBS wheels as another member has pointed out. I have a 2005 V8 Limited, so I assume the brake calipers are bigger and the other member pointed out that the BBS wheels don't appear in the list of wheels for the Limited, but rather for the FJ.
I'm wondering if I bought the BBS separately from eBay, if the TPMS sensors can be switched over to them (are those 'repair kits' needed?), then buy BFGs from Tire Rack, then pay to have mounted and balanced locally, if the danged things will fit my 4Runner? Any thoughts on requiring some wheels spacers to get them to fit, or should I just buy the wheel spacers anyways since the 4Runner wheels seem a little too far 'inboard' anyway?
BTW, the BFGs I want are the 265/70/17 at 31.8" diameter, up from the 265/65/17s at 30.6.

It sounds like all the packages come out about the same $, add or take paying for mounting and balancing, plus/minus the $200 for a set of SpiderTrax spacers (which may or may not be required for the BBS wheels). Then there's the benefit or lack thereof of the TPMS. Not such a big deal when you've got a spare like on the 4Runner, but sure is required on my other car (which doesn't even carry a spare).
