Option to Wire a Portable GPS and Radar Detector into the Dash?

Hi,

I was wondering if there are recomendations/options to wire my Garmin GPS and Radar Detector into the Dash,

I did a quick search on this but didn't really see too much on this. The portable GPS and a radar detector as seen in the picture I attached come with a lot of wiring. I got some tie downs and such to reduce the wire clutter but feel like there might be a better option to just somehow wire them into the dash. BUT I've never done anything like that before so thought I'd ask on here.

Of note, mounting the radar detector under the rear view mirror isn't an option bc the building I'm in requires a tag to enter which is mounted on the rear view mirror.

You'll want to start by pulling the radio to see what you have to work with. The trim around the fan speed and temp dials pull straight back, and then the rest of the climate control panel will pull out. That exposes 4 bolts, after which the whole radio unit will pull out.

I ran power from the glove box up to the mirror for a dashcam by drilling through the side of the glove box and tucking behind the A pillar trim - you could probably do the same on the other side of the glove box. There's actually a lot of room back there - I have the steering wheel control adapater and an ethernet adapter shoved behind my Android head unit.

Alternately, there's even more room under the shifter trim, if you want to run wires to the center console or tap into power down there.

Not sure which type plugs your units have, but these can be used if you have a micro or mini USB:

You can connect your leads by running an extension down behind the dash trim and T-tapping/soldering into your 12V cigarette adapter. I have a front/rear dashcam combo I hardwired the same way.

I would try to have a conversation with whom ever is in charge of the parking tag having to be hung on/below your rearview mirror.
Put your GPS up just below your mirror and hang it from there! Done!

It would be easier to run your wires up and over via headliner and drivers A pillar to your fuses.
