Was wondering who all had theirs ordered and what configuration..

Ordered mine last weekend.. TRD Offroad Double Cab Short Bed in Quicksand.. Expecting it late this month or early October..


Still keeping the Beast Mode though.. My Runner stays with me for sure, high miles and all..:guitar2:

allocation put in early yesterday and was accepted by Kansas city regional port around 5:24pm.

#7542 Double Cab Sport SB 4x4
8T0 - Blazing Blue Pearl
015 - gun metal gray interior
PY - Sport Model code
PF - JBL
CT - All weather mats & door sill
DK - owners portfolio
E5 - exhaust tip
FE - required all vehicles
MF - mud guards
R6 - predator tube steps
TO - tow package
3P - paint protection film

MSRP - 40k (rounded up from 398xx
Invoice - 38k (rounded up from 378xx)
Dealer cost - 36k (rounded up from 358xx)

hold back was $916 plus another $216 for something else and ??? for another item I didn't get a good look at. this is subtracted from the invoice to get the dealer cost, then they add back $2k for profit and that is what I get the 38k cost to me.

I did notice the invoice pricing for all option/packages where a tad bit higher than Toyota invoice pricing.

ie: CT was 179 MSRP, 119 for INV, 159 Dealer INV (on the screen) so there is some padding in there from the Kansas city regional pricing.

My Cost - 38k

12 taco dcab OR TX TRD 4x4 w/ under 22k miles (should be about 28k trade in, owe 18k)

not included above and will be after the sale :

$520 access rollup cover
$450 drone mobile install

they are honest with me and show me a lot more than most people so I am more than happy to purchase from them.

and yes I do know that is not the true cost to the dealer, since only the owner/select few will know the true cost due to meeting sales quota's from Toyota and those kick back bonus.

That sounds like a dam nice truck..

Options I got..

1.Tow package
2.Paint protection film(which is way too expensive, but worth it I guess)
3.Tonneau cover
4.All weather mats and doorsill(never paying over 200 on WeatherTechs again)
5. Window tint

Probably could of gotten a better deal elsewhere but closest place is 3.5 hours away plus the service from my dealer is really good. Been doing business with them for a long time..

well I have to say the WT are a lot better than the OEM if you have seen the OEM's before. they are just a flat mat with a slight depression to hold some volume compared to the WT's. plus the side wall coverage is a lot higher than the OEM's for snow belt states, which is a big concern for us.

please see the the 2016 taco thread with pricing to help with getting the best deal. its the best info I could collate from Tacoma world from all the crap.
 
I can't get by the drum brakes in the rear...but enough vodka this weekend may push me over the edge.

I still have about 25,000 on my extended warranty left.
 
I plan to look at them closely when they arrive at Dealerships. Whether I like them enough to buy one, remains to be seen.

well got to keep the warden happy and out of my 4runner, and she has yet to even sit in the driver seat since I bought the 4runner.

lol, you should see the shite storm in the TW forums about the disc vs drum debate in a 2016 truck.

there are pro/cons for each design, but ultimately, the warden could care less when she drives. when she pushes the brake pedal the truck stops.

from what I can tell, dealers should be getting 1-2 on the lot by 9-10 or closely after that. if I remember correctly they officially go on sale on 9-10.

I bet...I'm no expert on brakes, and I'm not going to second guess engineers, but it just seems to make more sense to have disc.

I really like the new Tacoma look, I'm really struggling about about getting into a pick up truck again though. I've had trucks since I was 18, started with a 76' Black Dodge Warlock. Then I got on a dually kick for about 20 years. Short beds, long beds, regular cabs, extended cab, crew cabs, I've had em all.

I really like the "feel" of the 4runner, the tight turning radius', and although I'm a fat bastard, I don't mind the fit near as much as I thought I would. I still don't feel cramped, which I couldn't get by a few generations ago.

Some things that do occasionally bother me...throwing a bag of cement in the back and having the dust fly everywhere (I really like to keep the cab area clean, as I commute about 100 miles a day) so the separated bed I kinda of miss. Wishing I had just a bit more space, and could separate gear from occupants a little more.

If I did get a pick up, I would probably go right to an ARE paint matched cap, and drawer system immediately. I do love that about the 4runner..everything is "right there". I think the increased weight carrying capacity would be a real plus as well. I'm a little afraid the extra length, even though it's a short bed, while wheeling, may be a hindrance.

So in retrospect, I have a ton of time and materials in the 4runner, and will never get out of it what I put in it. Then I'd have the hassle of redoing a truck, (not so much the money, but the time). From a towing prospective, the Tacoma has more, and from a wheeling perspective, with Crawl and ATrac...well, there's all the electronic nanny shit you need.

This is going to be a tough one, that's for sure....now. where in the hell is that Pineapple flavored New Amsterdam...:beer:
 
I'm going to wait a couple of years before I pull the trigger to let all the bugs get worked out and make sure there aren't any major issues once the mileage gets put on them. By then the next gen 4runner will at least be announced and I will make my decision between the two. If the 3.5 liter ends up being as good as they say, and it goes in the next gen 4runner, it will be a very tough decision.

One thing that I can't seem to get over is how small the kept the Tacoma cabin. I was really hoping they would raise the roof or do something to increase the interior room a bit.

Me too. I'm not sure about the looks, I'll have to see one in person and to see how I really feel about the look.

So here I am on Emunds thanks to you...looking at LC's...some help you are....Susan's going "why would you want a truck when you drive this"....wait till I take an 80K+ truck out in the woods..
