Hey Rock_Rat and K7CWJ.
Maybe you 2 should just be the route planners, the rest of us could link up at certain parts?
I am thinking I need to do the full meal deal. South to North...don't have to do the coastal part if that's out of the way, for the group.

That weekend of the 4th of July is bumper to bumper traffic in central Oregon, Sisters to Sunriver, Hwy 97. Was last year anyway.
Maybe since it will be wed the 5th it would not be too bad.
I am prepared and familiar with backwoods adventure.
Very familiar with the central Oregon area.
Will be solo.
Most likely just sleep in the runner.
Have.
Comms= 2m/CB and scanner (in case of fires/emergency and what-not)
Paper Oregon maps/detailed central Oregon maps.
Recovery= 8k Warn/snatch block/d-rings/90' extra steel cable/tow strap...more
Tools/axe/bow saw/shovel/air compressor
two burner stove...feed bag
general purpose DIY first aid kit/toilet paper/Excedrin.
fire ext./extra fuel. probably just a 5gal. 5gal H2O.
kitchen sink/towel

Hey guys, So [MENTION=166847]K7CWJ[/MENTION] and I think it's best to postpone our meet and greet until later on in the month. This is a tough time of year to try and de-conflict schedules, plus the weather is looking pretty sketchy with snow levels dropping down to 4000'. In a perfect world it would be great if all of us doing the OBDR could get together one time before we depart, but if not that's OK. We'll just keep preparing and we'll continue to stay in touch.
With that said, I propose we begin at the coast on route 6 and continue to the intersection of 3. [MENTION=166847]K7CWJ[/MENTION] has already created the GPS coordinates for the main track on route 3 along with entry and exit areas in case we need to take a bypass. From 3 let's push on to Route 4 on over to 5 and finish up at Walla Walla. I'm pretty sure only [MENTION=132734]MeefZah[/MENTION] is leaving and we're picking up [MENTION=65505]Kotrin[/MENTION].
I'll be ordering the paper maps tonight and will make copies for everyone once I receive them and overnight them to you. [MENTION=166847]K7CWJ[/MENTION] will have all of the GPX files for everyone's preferred navigation system. BTW I'll also be bringing my chain saw, so I think two should be plenty.

Sounds good to me, yeah the weather is going to be very fun on my trip tomorrow. I was looking at some reports and seeing that its going to be WARMER over there then here like nights in the 50's, I don't believe it...but they never lie! 
Just finished packing most of it and 5am tomorrow I'm on the road. I have the paper maps and I won't need the gpx ones (already on my tablet in the 4Runner). I have zero problems with meeting people at wherever or whenever, meeting someone the day and driving doesn't bother me not one bit as I'm already a keep to myself hermit 99% of the time =) Working on changing that 1% to at least 20% , hehe.

Sounds good to me too, I really did want to do that coastal section!
I am also about 99% hermit.
I am going to buy the maps...support the cause.
If we don't do a meet and greet no worries. If we find out we are not compatible we can just give a friendly one finger wave and go on our way.
I have met BlackWorksInc and shearn and would have no problem hanging out with them for a few days.

This all sounds great I'm looking forward to meeting everyone. I'm sure this will be a very "grown up" journey. I'm not one to bring a ghetto-blaster haha. It'll be a very path-of-least-resistance atmosphere and journey, rest assured. I'll be finalizing the route over the next week or so and will have it to you all ASAP. So on top of a mountain and had cell service, I'm going to have to cancel as I seem to be breaking everything on my 4runner, did some gnarly trials lots of fun and I can fix it..lol but not in time

So... my plans for doing the WBDR have fallen through so I may be joining in. Just have to approve it with the wife and work.
I have the paper maps for most of it and have done a fair section of it going the opposite direction. Hopefully it all works out and i can join in the fun!

I got my vacation time at work sorted out, now for the important part, getting the wife to approve. I am 95% sure I will be joining you guys. I will have to meet up with you all on the 6th however, I cannot get the 5th off of work, but then I am in for the rest of the trip, you know, pending the wife's approval.
