I have decided to turn my upcoming purchase of the CVT RTT into a 2 week adventure. I am hoping to push the purchase in the group buy out to June if possible.
I am looking at doing the WABDR (Washington Backcountry Discovery Route) as part of the trip. I can't do a lot of it earlier because of the elevation and snow. (Washington Backcountry Discovery Route (WABDR))
This is the article I read in FourWheeler about it that got me interested (AEV Jeeps on the Washington Backcountry Discovery Route)
The initial plan is to head to Boise, then over to Bend to pick up the rooftop tent and do some fishing in the area. From there, head to Portland to visit some friends, then run as much of the WABDR as possible. Then trek east into Montana to look at some restaurants and do some fishing. Depending on time, work my way over through Glacier National Park, then down towards Bozeman and back to Vegas. I would have about 16 days to complete the trip. (that way I still have a week or so of vacation to possible do Colorado later this year)
Has anyone run the WABDR? Any suggestions on specific routes? I won't have a winch so have to be careful of what I get myself into.
