Original 2013 Limited Wheels

Has anyone installed some Nitto Terra Grapplers or any other heftier tiers to the originals wheels of a 2013 limited edition??? If so could you post some pics to see how they look. Thanks!!!

In a nutshell, I think there are only 3 tires available in 275/55R20 sizing that are recommended by the manufacturer to fit the Limited wheel:

Continental CrossContact LX20
General Grabber UHP
General Grabber HTS

I haven't seen any other 275/55 tires that list 7" rim width as a recommended application. Not saying you can't, but the manufacturers don't recommend it. Draw your own conclusion regarding what it means if a manufacturer does not recommend our 7" width to be used. (Many will say go for it, why not, YOLO..... but it isn't based on any facts. These people say "It's only .5" difference, so I think it should be within tolerances"....)
 
to answer the question directly YES! manufacturer recommendations are nothing more than a "dont blame us for anything" clause

Hi omaguz,

Here's a look at a GoodYear Eagle LS-2, 275/55 R20 on a stock '12 limited; no lift. They've caused no trouble, with the exception of an occasional liner rub if I cut to the extreme L or R, while hitting a "stepped" entrance ramp.

This issue could easily be remedied with a fenderwell liner adjustment, but it rarely happens so I'm not concerned. The wider tires have greatly improved the truck's road manners and stability at higher speeds...no comparison to original equipment.


Important: Each tire manufacture's product size may be different in terms of physical dimensions, so ask around BEFORE you buy.

Thanks Rigtec, they do look way better than the originals. I just posted a link that states that the size of the wheels in a 2013 LT 4runner are 20"x 7.5", do you know if that is correct????

Most tire manufacturers won't recommend doing it (legal stuff), but many of us here have done this with no consequence.

I was apprehensive at first, but I decided to go with it and have had no issues; what ever you're comfortable with, it's totally up to you.
 
For whatever it's worth, here's a picture of the 2012 "Limited" 20 inch rim. I've removed the tire for the purpose of measuring the rim, between the inner flanges to settle this on going debate, once and for all.

I know that there are numerous spec sheets out there that have determind the rim to be 7.5 inches wide, so I measured it myself to remove all doubt (see photos).

Important: Before anyone says that these numbers are incorrect, please...take your own measurements with the tire removed, and document your point with photos (as I have done), and post them here; just don't wanna go through another pointless, unproductive debate (LOL)!

I'm not doubting your measurements, I've seen the thread that you posted those pics in originally. I'm just saying that there will always be doubts when Toyota has it wrong in their press releases on all 5th Gen years.
