Hello , We just bought this baby a week ago and it already has 800 miles on it . It had 1 mile on it when we purchased it last Tuesday HEHEHEHEHEHEH . SO to say we frickin LOVE this thing is an understatment . We have all the goodies that came with it and we are gettin it pinstripped and tinted next tuesday . Pictures will be forth coming . As soon as i get smart enough to learn how to post them lol .
LIKES ,
Drives like a dream no vib no noise and we have the moonroof cracked open all the time !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Interior is sweet , everything where i want it and the cupholders hold ANYTHING !!!!!!!!! and the stereo is OK for now !!
Exterior wise this thing is beutiful , we get looks everywhere we go .
Dislikes
runningboards still get the back of your leg when gettin out . I mean their handy for getting stuff off the luggage racks , but couldnt they have been a little bit more UNDER the frame .
the cruise control isnt lit up . minor but annoying atleast till i get used to it.
And the only other gripe i have so far is the smell of the headers burning in . Only time i have smelt anything quite this bad is burning new headers in on a motorcycle with custom made baffles . SHould this still smell at all after 800 miles ? i am going to contact the dealer tomorrow and see what they think too ? I notice it when we are going up long hills and after heavy rush hour traffic . Any thoughts would help .Engine temp and everything else seem perfectly normal too . I am even getting almost 21 mpg and at $2.17 a gallon i hope it stays that way :)
be back soon with pics

Congrats on the new ride. Am not surprised you love it, after all, whats not to love. Good luck with it.

As for the 'header' smell, maybe it is the infamous sulphur smell. does it smell like rotten eggs? If so, do a search on it here, you will find a wealth of info, along with TSB ( Service bulletins) which cover this issue.

Congrats on your new 4Runner! It sounds like you're very happy with it!

The burning smell will go away after a while. I didn't have this with my 4Runner, but our Corolla stunk for a few days and ocassionally had a faint smell after going up/down hills. I'm not sure what it is though, but I've been told it's normal.
