Im about to put a diehard p4 in my truck, they are the same as an Odyssey, just cheaper. Plus comes with an 8 year warranty. Optima is just a name now, their quality has suffered a lot in the past few years.

In reality, any quality AGM battery will be an improvement. You can do internet research for days on which ones is better.

Yeah had an Optima in the past with no issues. I know people still using a 16 year old Optima. However your right quality has suffered no days.

I have heard that. Mine is several years old with no issues. I like the construction and resistance to vibration/rough treatment these types of batteries have better than the "regular" batteries. If you can find a brand of this style that is better...???
I've heard different opinions on why the Optima is not as good any more, but no solid reasons......stuff just gets crappier as we get older in the name of "Profits."
Honestly, I have never had battery issues with any kind/brand of batteries in my rigs. Get quality and take care of it and you'll be good to go.

The Platinum battery has the best ratings right now. I purchased a red top Optima last month for the 1st gen though because I found a great coupon on line last month for Advance Auto. Buy online, pick up in store. I paid about $180 for it with tax. They are usually about $220. Google "Advance Auto coupon." They always have sales.

Took off the front bumper, side steps and back bumper. What do most people do with the tabs for the OEM parts, just cut them off?

You looking to offload those rear bumper brackets and plastic bits? I've actually been trying to track them down. They don't re-make the rear brackets.

I'm going to go stock rear bumper. I've got a giant tube one now.

Yes they are for sale. Much of the OEM parts are. I have a listing over at IH8MUD. Guess I should do one here, but it's just a lot to keep up with. Not sure what they are worth. I'll up load some closer pics for ya.

My 86's rear brackets for the plastic sides were welded to the body. I just whacked them off with the plasma but I think they are spot welded so you could probably just grind the welds if you wanted.

Yeah, I wonder how hard they would be to drill out of a donor and pop rivet back into place.

Probably not too terrible... if you can find the donor.

Just got the Tuffy in! First looks seems like a good fit. Not sure if I'll mount the cup holder in the front or rear and move the console the opposite direction. Likely the front.

I think rats may have been in here before and I'm not sure what this funny wiring is about. Had it going to ground looks like.

EDIT: Some how that wire is connected to the rear power window even though it's not connected from where I saw. Power window wouldn't work till I touched it to ground.

Yep they are spot welded. I'm willing to drill/grind them off and sell them with the rest for the right price. I even have this nifty dirt guard in perfect shape!

Love those videos! The front frame support is for use with a winch so you don't rip the front off when winching hard. Was pretty cheap and I do my own welding so won't be bad.

Still working on the console, but will post up once done. Not sure where the rear window control will go, but likely the dash.

Yes. Stock location is plain retarded, because that's where we spill our cerveza's - LOL! I relocated mine to dash, too. (here)
