I really appreciate all the advice, what a trip! First really long drive in my 4R, and I was so pleased.

Had lunch at this place, probably the best pad thai I've had.

Stopped by to see the lighthouse on the way to Corolla Beach

We actually did see some horses again this year. I took my Mom and Aunt on the beach with us, they were so excited to see these guys.

I aired down to about 22psi and kept it in 4H on the trip 'north' up the beach. There were two recovery vehicles and a sheriff parked near the entrance right by the water line, making me think there had been a lot of rescues that day, but maybe they're always parked there? The tide was pretty high, higher than I'd seen, and the beach was really rutted up. I saw a Wrangler getting pulled out, he had gotten dug in to the axles. So, I've got my whole family in my truck, super nervous at this point. Had to do some rut-crossing to allow vehicles to pass by, etc. I kept the speed slow and steady. We saw the horses and I pulled a U-turn to get on the high side of the beach and out of the way. We parked and watched the horses for a while, took a lot of pictures. I used 4L on the way south, felt like I was in a tank and supremely confident wherever I pointed the truck. Got back out without any issues, and went straight to the car wash.
I'm in love with this truck.
