most expensive - rear wheel bearings - $1200
other stuff I can remember:
catalytic converter - $280 from an after market shop muffler/converter shop - this was much cheaper than I was expecting. I think they had to buy a converter for an '02 and it works fine
break caliper - cheap
cv boots and some other stuff up front with the suspension - I've probably spent a total of $400 or so on front suspension things (memory failing me today)
Still very tight and rides good, seats are getting a bit worn but they've seen a lot of miles
. Uses no oil, I change every 5k miles with whatever 5w30 is on sale at advanced auto

Well I drove my 3G (98) 231K miles and to date my son has clocked another 12, so it is up to 243, here are the repairs: New starter at about 150 that cost $700, new brakes at 185, that was about $400, an emissions repair that cost a few hundred and my son replaced the exhaust for the first time at 240K. That was it other than the fact that I replaced the rear bumper 3x, the first two I was hit on an on-ramp (same location both times, the Merritt in CT) and the third time it was strictly cosmetic. My 4G has 47K, just a babe in the woods.

Wow thats a lot of expense for that many mile IMO...

I'm at 100K and the only thing from your list that I haven't done yet are bearings.

Regardless he has had some expensive repairs compared to what Ive paid in 13 years on a differant import suv....I'd be livid if i had to dish our 1200 for wheel bearings!

I think that maintenance is freaking cheap for that many miles, he may have paid more for bearings but thats his choice, you could do it yourself for cheap, or grab a full axle from a junk yard but for that many miles I hope thats all the maintenance I have to do lol
