Overland Expo East 2014 3rd Gen Representation

The 5th Gen section has had a thread up and going for some time now and I'm kind of surprised to see nothing out of the 3rd gen forum yet.

How many 3rd Gens will be in attendance for the first Overland Expo East happening on Oct 3-5, 2014 in Asheville, NC?

Fantastic! Let's see if more 3rd gens come out of the woods and join in.
Also curious to see if anyone is forking over for the Overland experience.

Their is another one around the same time in Vermont. Really cool people guy who runs it is very knowledgable.... Over 2000 mi of class 4 roads in stunning vt in the fall foliage. My schedule will not allow me to commit, but those in the north east that are interested should def go.

One day pass can be had for as cheap as $10 for individual or $15 for family pass on Sunday.
Kids 17 & under are free all weekend.

Driving me beast from Jacksonville to Asheville would be about 150 in gas alone.

If I were still in Hickory, I wouldn't worry about it.

One day pass is all well and good, but then I'll be looking for stuff that I want to buy with no money.

Plus, what fun is it if you can't take your vic through the obsticle course? I wanna see how my beast does in there. LOL.

After watching Land rovers and Heeps go through the course, who wouldn't want to run it to measure up? But yeah, didn't know if you were in Jax or up there during that time.
They have a class titled 'water and computers can mix' that had me thinking... :bathbaby:

You can't knock a Rover when it comes to going through a course like that. I have a Disco II and I'm very amazed at how these flex. Solid axles in the front are a huge factor.

That's not a Disco II, and most people on a 4runner forum will knock it (learned that from experience). They get a bad rep from the internet crowd that have never driven one and find bad pictures to post up.

Your first statement about rovers was a bit broad. Disco II's certainly have their undeniable reputation.
It's unusual to find unbiased reviews on make/model specific forums. I'm not knocking you or the LR :bigok:

Well I didn't take nearly as many photos as I would've liked, but I only saw maybe half a dozen 3rd gens anyway. I did happen to snap this one on the last day though (driver mia.)
