Overland Warehouse Lift Update Problem?

Have run the Hd version of this kit since 2011 with absolutely no problems, love this set up....that was up until this morning.....

Drove to the local bagel shop for some breakfast.

After shutting off the vehicle I heard and felt the Rear right end give off a " POP" along with a small rise ....


It felt like the shock or spring was stuck.....or that is was partially compressed and then snapped back to were it is suppossed to sit at a neutral position.

Has anybody else experienced this with the OW kit or any other lift?

Did you park on an uneven surface? If so, that's more likely your factory sway bar. I'd just check it to make sure that it's all tight and no links are bent. Sway bars can make pinging noises from time to time, it's normal.

I really can't imagine anything else back there making a noise like that, unless you have a spring falling out of the seat which is very very unlikely.

IF you are having issues with the shock contact Radflo who made them for OW.

Yeah, what [MENTION=6163]phillyd2[/MENTION] said would be your best bet. I also purchased my lift through Overland Warehouse, to add.

Turns out that its the rear driveshaft that is causing the problem.

Turns out that several 5th gen models are having issues with that.

Was going to point you to either the piston in the shock went bad or the driveshaft zerks need lubing...

I ran this setup since 2010 and just sent my whole setup (except rear springs) back to Radflo to rebuild. Took about a week and they updated everything - note that they did say they could do it faster - 2 day turnaround.

What did Radflo charge for the rebuild?

@ KVA Your problem with the stuck piston is exactly what I'm experiencing in the right rear side.

The mechanic at the dealership told me that he checked everything underneath the truck including the suspension, and that the problem is the driveshaft.

So hopefully the the issue in fact is only the shaft.

You'll know pretty quickly if the issue is resolved with the drive shafts once they are greased. The problem should magically go away...

It cost about $500 to rebuild all four corners and replace worn parts/update bushings to new versions.
