Overpriced is an understatement. That's way too much regardless of the mileage. The seller must be trying to get money for everything that has ever been done to it. Find out the mileage (if it is under 100K) and offer them $11K.

It's not gonna hurt my feelings if he gets his price. Without a doubt, it is the most sought after model year and optioned right, 1999 4x4 w/ 5sp & e-locker. Without a doubt a dealer would have equivalent pricing. It would not take much effort to research the interest in this combo.
I'll cheer on any sale which may increase the value of our beloved 3rd Gen 4Runners. After all with mods, I'm into it for far more than market value as it sits. Like I said, I hope he gets it.

I have to agree a bit with 8sm. I do think it's ridiculous to ask that, but if you're selling something, you can ask whatever you want. What is something worth? In cars, people rely on KBB or Edmunds to tell them, but it's really worth what people are willing to pay. 4Runner's up here go for 20% over what Edmunds will value it.
I could sit out on the street corner and try to sell a worthless bucket of dirt for $20. It would be worthless until someone paid me $20. Then all of a sudden, a bucket of dirt is worth $20.

not the same at all, sure it's a 99 but no locker and no 5 speed, that's what make the original so rare, it's a highlander 5-speed, basically a one year only truck with the less common transmission on it...
the guy may very well get 15k for his truck if he finds the right buyer, he's trying to sell to a niche market right now for that 15k price, he's trying to sell to the people who know that's a rare combo, he's probably going to drop the price about 5k if he gets no hits, right now the guys is just trying to make some of the money on his roof rack and lights,ect back....

The one in the OP's ad isn't even a Highlander. It's just a normal SR5, which definitely shouldn't warrant a 15k price tag. I would be happy if he sells it for that much, but really it's not that hard to get an SR5 and throw in an ARB (which is superior to the factory locker) and it would be the same as the one in the ad.

it's still a highlander from my understanding it just wasn't the limited highlander...

Nope not a Highlander. Highlanders have the hood scoop, 99 talls, color matched bumpers and grill, 5 star rims, fog lights and black SR5 flares. This one doesn't have any of those beside possibly the 99 tallls.
Also, sorry to say you don't have a Highlander. You have the 99 talls, but otherwise yours is just a limited.

yeah maybe i don't you could be right , like i said i don't know jack about the trim levels and to be honest don't really care.....mine just came with all of the best stuff i wanted...multimode,tall coils, and diff lock.....
just wanted to point out my awesome factory locker though...thanks that's all.

^^Haha, I know what you mean. I'm happy with my multimode and locker. No 99's for me, but that's what the lift is for anyways.
