I need to get an oxygen sensor pigtail for 2002 Toyota 4 runner v6 2 wheel drive at a salvage yard. If you can check your city and surrounding area for one I would appreciate it. I can’t afford to buy a new one. I failed my inspection for the second year in a row because somebody stole my catalytic converter on my vehicle 2 years ago. I want to go to school in the fall so I can’t afford to spend a lot of money to purchase a new one. Thanks so much. I know you guys out there especially who know about cars who could help me out I sure would appreciate it. It seems like a girl can never get a break. I don’t know anything about how to fix cars.

I don't understand what you are looking for, do you need the vehicle-side O2-sensor connector (because your harness got cut when they stole the CAT)? You should be able to get that from a salvage yard; just google and start calling.

Have you replaced the Catalytic converter? Do you still have the mounting point for the O2 sensor, or did that get cut out as well?

Yes I had it replaced last year and they put on a universal catalytic converter. The problem is they didn't know what they were doing (Ed's Tires-Hope Mills, NC) and I just found out that they hot glued the oxygen sensor in there instead of wiring it because they couldn't locate another harness. They were hem-ming and ha-ing about repairing it right when I picked it up and saw that the engine light abs light and track on and off lights were still on. When I questioned them they told me only the dealership could get them to go off and suggested I take it there. And this was after I had spent $1400 for them to fix it so I could pass inspection. They gave me a waiver.

The vehicle connector for the oxygen sensor is missing. They cut the wires on the oxygen sensor. Also the intake vacuum is plugged up. I have 4 codes showing on it. po100, po110, po171 and p1130.

Ok, well the pigtail you should be able to get from a salvage yard, I doubt any has cut those off the wrecked runners. Just be sure you solder it on correctly, use heat shrink, etc...

As far as your codes, is all this about the front O2 sensor, or the rear O2 sensor? The front O2 sensor is actually an Air/Fuel sensor, and could drive those codes (maybe not all of them, but some for sure) if they put in a regular O2 sensor instead, or if the hot glue'd connector is messed up.

Do you know something is plugged, or just assuming that from the codes? You may need to clean your MAF sensor, but there may be nothign wrong with your intake.

BTW, don't ever go back to that shop. This sounds like a TERRIBLE job they did. And anyone can reset the codes, you just have to disconnect the battery for 30 seconds. Hot gluing a connector is stupid, and should never be done. It sounds like high schoolers are working at that shop.
