There is something funny with this code. I am getting checked out tomorrow and already have an idea on what it is. Still, Thought I would share my experience as it may help someone in the future.

The Code started about 3 months and CEL was present for 4 days then just disappeared. While it was on I did get it read and was stated as bank 2 sensor 1. So O2 sensor upstream causing a lean code. now flash forward to 3 months later it has come and gone 3 times over the last 1.5 weeks. I am now noticing that I am not loosing MPG I am in fact gaining. Not a whole lot. Maybe 2-3 or so over this period of time. For a lean code I am doing a lot of gaining despite the engine and ECU dumping extra gas to make up for the lean code CEL.
Anyone every had something similar to this? Just odd to me how it comes and goes and I am gaining MPG and not loosing it.

Could have some fuel delivery issues if consumption is going down with the lean code and the truck trying to compensate.

Clogged fuel filter, clogged/failing injectors, etc..

That's exactly my point.

You aren't getting enough fuel into the cylinder = 1) the lean code and 2) better MPG.

Because there may be some issue in fuel delivery, no matter how much fuel the ECU asks for, the correct amount of fuel isn't getting into the combustion chamber.

lol with better MPG it's almost worth it not getting it fixed. I am going with B2S1 O2.

Running lean can damage the engine. Your increase in MPGs is not worth a blown motor.
