First I'd to say I appreciate the help, If you could answer as many questions as possible, I'd appreciate it.

I've been getting this code on and off for over a year now. Went over 6 months with no code after adding ethanol treatment, can't say it was related.
At that time, I had the injectors cleaned at the dealer. Code returned next day.
Changed spark coil location, I changed the plugs, twin electrode as recommended. code stayed on 4.Changed fuel filter, didn't seem dirty, I had changed it when I first got the truck. The previous owner did no maintenance, the fuel filter was filthy. I bought it at 120K.
I read it could be compression related, that I need to bite the bullet and rebuild it. However, I can't afford that now, nor am I convinced it needs it.
It runs well, uses no oil. I just put in a new tranny, so I'm invested in the truck.
1. Can I check the compression with an old standard compression checker, removing all plugs and cranking? What value should I be wanting?
2.Replacing injectors ain't cheap, but cheaper than a rebuild. Can I be sure that would do it?
3. What diagnostics could be run to isolate the problem?
4. is there any problem to just continue to reset the codes?
5. Any other advice?
Thanks
Chet
