P0325

Help. I just threw this code for knock sensor. I’m currently on the freeway going home. Got less than 300 miles left. Is it safe to keep driving? It’s never thrown this code before.

P0325 is the knock sensor. Has the role of maintaining the ignition timing of the engine, so a fairly important part. I'm sure the truck goes into some sort of limp mode to compensate for the loss of it.

Did it make the drive home?

It is okay to drive home on it! It puts the truck into a limp mode, it retards the timing so it won't hurt the engine. You'll get bad gas mileage but you will for sure make it home.

Ive had the p0330 on for a while, just haven't had a convenient time to replace, I don't recommend keeping it for too long though. When you replace it, replace both sensors and the wiring harness.

I had that as well, and apparently the previous owner did as well. They had some mechanic change the knock sensors with something that wasn't denso, the light must have came back, so the mechanic pulled the CEL bulb... problem fixed HA!

Anyways, while there is a limp mode, you may never experience it. I didn't, but I went ahead and got denso sensors off of amazon... 2 for $60 which was insane and I was worried they were a knock off, but over a year later I am having no issues.

As another poster said, do the harness while you are in there since you won't actually know if it is the sensor or harness giving the code.

There is a good write up by Rock Rat I believe.
