While I have done a bunch of research on the topic, I am hoping that somebody can see the issues I am having and know the fix before I drop the tank and tear things apart. I replaced the gas cap with a new OEM one with no luck.
I have been getting the P0440 light on my '01 along with the TRAC OFF and VSC lights. I know that this is an evap system issue and that it can be a number of things. I also get P0446 but not after every code reset.
For about a year and a half now, some pumps at gas stations will prematurely shutoff when fueling. Perhaps this symptom is a smoking gun?
I am thinking that the overflow check valve might be at fault.
